Had a great time here for a family event , highly recommended and friendly waiting staff , awesome food at great price ! Wings recommend !
If there was an option for 0 starts I would go for that. The food was fine but the waitress was beyond rude and unprofessional l. When she was taking the order she did her best to show how bored she was listening to me.Then she brought the drinks. One glass of lemonade was covered in syrop/jam and she did not even care. When I wiped it off and asked her to take the napkins she just stared at me and left.I saw that with other visitors she was nice, but for some reason she only gave me that attitude. When it was time to pay I obviously was not planning to le leave any tips for her but by accident i clicked the wrong option and the machine left 0.03 cents as a tip. And she STARTED YELLING ON ME THAT I SHOULD’VE LEFT MORE TIPS FOR HER. Like what?!It seemed like a an obvious racism towards me and my family as I’m new to canada(I’m Ukrainian) and she obviously treated other customers way nicer. It was my very first visit to a restaurant/cafe and Canada and it was a disaster. I can’t believe I was treated this way.
We were very disappointed with a very long wait for food preparation as we watched other people order after us & leave with their orders before us. I was on my 45-minute trip back home from Toronto & waited more than 45 minutes for my order to be completed. To add insult to injury, our failing patience was met with order inaccuracies as we unpacked our Father's Day Dinner.
I requested well done on the grill. When the chicken was served it had no grill lines but the server said it was well done and on the grill.I started to eat it and it was pink inside. I told the server and she kindly told me she would replace it.When the new order came out I was speechless. The server never once came back to ask if everything was okay. She didn’t even give me eye contact. She offered my friend a refill and even a take out container. When I asked for the store number she told me it was on the receipt. If there was 0 star option, it would be a definite 0.
This location is one that we have been frequenting for decades (we followed the restarurant when it moved from a strip plaza at the same intersection). We attended on Friday April 22nd for an anniversary dinner for my parents and the manager asked young hostess to inform us that we could not bring in the cake that I was carrying in my hands due to "covid". This was shocking, especially since we had just celebrated a birthday party on February 15th with our own birthday cake. I brought my cake back to my vehicle and then proceeded to call Head Office, who were completely useless and told me that I needed to speak to the restaurant owner.I asked the manager for the owner's name and contact information and was given her business card only to find out a few minutes later that the owner was there at the restaurant. I eventually spoke to her and explained how incredibly disappointed I was. I also told her that the manager of this location is rude, unprofessional and has absolutely zero skills to be working in the service industry. The manager told me that I was in fact "allowed" to bring in my cake, as long as I kept it at my table, rather than in their fridge. Clearly the information that the manager gave us was incorrect and I feel that my family was being "picked on" and quite frankly, descriminated against. If it hadn't been my parents' anniversary, we would have left and gone to another restaurant. However, our party of 13 people stayed and paid over $200 for our meals, even after being mistreated. And for the record, we called other Swiss Chalet locations and they have no problem with patrons brining a cake AND keeping it in their fridge as well. I suppose after 25+ years, we will no longer be frequenting this Swiss Chalet location.
Epic Fail on customer experience. Placed a pickup order and when we arrive they tell us half the order items are not available. We compromise and take what is available and then they forget to pack 2 side salads. You guys are definitely going out of business with this attitude
A friend and I went to the restaurant for lunch yesterday. All of our food was excellent and the service was the best I've ever experienced at a restaurant. Our waitress was kind, attentive and had great menu suggestions. When we stayed for coffee she even put on a fresh pot.
Pick up, staff accommodating of my communication needs (Im Deaf), so I got my food orders quickly and piping hot! Yah! Their positive attitudes made my day!
I was happy to try their spicy chicken sandwich. It's actually on par if not as good as something like Popeyes. The spice sits just right and with the side of fries it just adds to the experience.Delivery is always quick with Swiss chalet and we appreciate it. Our delivery came within 15 minutes and the driver still apologized which wasn't needed. If you were a big chicken sandwich lover and haven't tried to Swiss chalet one yet I suggest trying it because it's really good.
Chicken was dry, we were there a group of 5 and if you did not use the chalets sauce you could not swallow the chicken. The kids dirt and worms desert must have been a week old. Pudding is supposed to be smooth not like a jello
