The ordering experience is terrible. They only accept orders online, even if you’re already at the store at the cash register. Even so, a single order is a minimum 30 minute wait.Their brand caption means “Toppings take up half the cup” but this brand is the most stingy one I’ve come across. The tapioca and other toppings will fill less than 1/8 of the cup. Been to a few of their outlets and always leave feeling scammed and shorted.
The drinks are good. The downside of this place is customer service. The staff aren’t very welcoming, it feels like they don’t want us to order, or not happy serving customers.
The tea was really delicious, the presentation was beautiful, the cups are beautiful. The only thing is that it took a little long for my order to be prepared, and it was super inconvenient for me to have to use the website to order. They didn’t allow me to order at the cashier if I was not paying with cash. The website is super finicky as well.
If the owners care about their business they wouldn’t let the kid working at the pick up area work there. You don’t tell paying customers to “hurry up”. He also said my order would take 40 minutes when it was already ready. Lack of brain cells for real. At least the other lady working at the pick up was nicer. I like their drinks tho
I used to like Shuyi a lot. Took some time to get orders, previously about 15-20mins but it was understandable because they’re busy. But now today, it took 45 minutes for an ASAP one drink order. Maybe it’s because of the pandemic but it would appear they’re highly understaffed which is unfair for the employees and customers. So if you do order, order ahead online, give them 45-50 mins to get the order ready, hopefully this eventually improves, and also if you’re in person bring cash and make sure your phone can scan a QR code to order. Drinks are still quite delicious! ??

Came there on a snowy day. Employee refused to take order on the spot. Forced us to take order online without any clear instruction. If you plan to come there , order ahead. First time ive seen this in such a small store. Took me like half an hour to get the order in and another 20 mins just to get those bubble teas. Quality is not that amazing. Staffs only speak to each other.
drinks are definitely a hit or miss—I personally like their mango or lime iced teas. their drinks are pretty unique compared to other chain bubble tea stores so if you want to try something new, you might really love shuyi! if you’re more picky, you might want to ask about the specific toppings in the drinks you’re ordering because some have some pretty unexpected toppings such as raisins and cherry tomatoes. in addition, their menu seems a little inconsistent with what they actually offer so it is helpful to check online if you’re ordering in-person. wait times are also kinda long and they don’t always announce when your drinks are finished so you may have to go up and ask! finally, I believe they still only accept cash so keep that in mind!
My niece (17 year old) just told me her bad experience at this place: rudeness of the staff, they might not have been trained properly, worse than that they might work there illegally. As my niece said their English was bad and they looked like international students. Bear in mind, international students are not allowed to work in Canada by law; there was horrible smell in the place; the last but not the least, they sent a misleading ad to my niece, making her believe they had a promotion of 50% off, then when she ordered the drink after putting up with the staff’s struggling communication and rudeness, she was charged full price and was told it was “buy one and get the second 50% off”! So based on what she told me and some other comments on here, this place is not worthy of my visit. It seems that the owner doesn’t care enough about his business, and some fishy things are going on there. Told my niece not to go there anymore, not to support a business with no decency.
The drink was good, but the customer service was the worst I've ever had in my life.First of all, nobody acknowledges you for the longest possible time even if you are standing right in front of them and there was other customer inside.Secondly, I was only being told "cash only" after I placed order. There was no "Cash Only" sign anywhere inside or outside store. Then the cashier went straight ahead to prepare the drinks after handling the cash without properly sanitizing the hands, which was a huge health and safety risk in today's circumstance.Last but not least, when I asked for a receipt, I was being told they do NOT give receipt to customers, which raises concerns for potential tax fraud. At last, there was this odd greasy kitchen smell inside the store, can't really describe it, but trust me, it does not smell anything like "fruity bubble tea"...
