I haven't eaten at this location in many many years. I was shocked to see how the service was SLOW!!! One of the staff was dragging her feet as if there weren't four people in line waiting. There was a roach crawling on counter. I ordered the Jerk Pork some and pieces were burnt and hard definitley not edible. Rice and Peas was ok could of used a bit more flavor. Not the Mr Jerk I remembered many many years ago. You're better off going to the Wellesley St or Lawrence Ave W location WAAAYYYYYY BETTER!!!!!!!
Brought food for the company.. everyone loved it .. great oxtail and jerk chk ...kudos to themUpdates 1st April 2022 . Food is great quality and quantity.I wonder how the price for (half chk rice and peas went from 13.99 2weeks ago to 21 today
Been going here for 15 years. Food used to be great and fairly priced. Over the last couple of years since they have gotten new owners the the prices have gone up and the portions have shrunk. I love their food but they're pricing themselves out. Noticed the lines that used to be there diminishing as well so it must not be only me that feels this way.
If you’re looking for some quick Jamaican food, then Mr Jerk fills the need, though you can find better options out there for truly authentic food. Having said that, there’s nothing wrong with the food at Mr. Jerk. I’m just saying there’s room for improvement, but I do have to say their jerk chicken is really good. When it comes to the oxtail, I’ve had better. Overall though, I’d return for a lunch when I crave some Jamaican dishes.
Garbage since the new owners, was there today , pork was nothing but left over fat from yesterday I'd say, last time going there I may add, Absolutely the most miserable servers possible.than god there are plenty of good jerk restaurants around GTA
Was amazing.! And really v.large portion.i had oxtail and jerk chicken .rum cake was great all of them except the rum cake just didnt like the white cream on the top
This place has authentic tasting stuff most of the time. So jerk chicken or pork with rice and peas with oxtail gravy.. usually (95%) of the time great. I always check how the chicken looks..I.e. if it's too dry or not well done before. I also ask for well done pork... since I don't like the fatty pieces. Again, this is where personal preference comes in. Some people like their chicken and meats tender and juicy..some like well done and dry.. so check and order to your preference. I also like their salt fish.. again..some pieces have more meat than others.. but its a great accompaniment. Love their snapper.. but I usually take it home and reheat on small oven or bbq machine..to get the extra crispiness. The customer service at this place was falling apart a few years ago.. after the original owner passed away (it wasn't great to begin with, some of the staff were plain rude all the time).. it has improved a lot with the new management. Remember..taste differs..make sure u get the stuff that falls in your palate.. there is a lot of variability in this kind of food.. bon apetit
I LOVE jerk pork, but not last time we bought it , tastes was rotten must be was setting from the past of 2 days. Please sell people fresh food.
This location use to have the best food in the GTA. Now with new owners the quality and customer service is low. Because it use to be one of my favorite places to eat I continue to try abd hope that it gets better. Today I ordered oxtail and jerk chicken meals and both have zero taste very bland I can't even eat it. I'm extremely disappointed as I didn't want the Era to end. Unfortunately this is the end for me supporting this location.
Best oxtail and jerk in the GTA. Just like how granny made it. Those who say otherwise don’t know their jerk.
