It’s a snow day and we didn’t feel like cooking… I remembered a friend mentioned Holiday Garden Dodai Sushi and I’ve been struggling to find a good noodle place. We ordered the green dragon roll, unagi roll, spring rolls and Singapore style noodles… they also gave us free edamames!! just WOW It was so delicious you have no idea. I’m so happy to have found my new favourite Japanese/ Chinese restaurant!! Thank you for the amazing dinner you will definitely be seeing me again soon :)
Loved it...my picky 7 year old gobbled it all up
I'm sorry to write this review. Normally I would not leave a review for a business even if my experience was not the most pleasant...After trying their food it's hard to understand how this place gets any good reviews at all; the pictures they have posted on their website does not even come close to what you actually get upon ordering. What I personally experienced was that sushi rolls that are supposed to be regular in size come in tiny maki sizes, and the specialty rolls for which the restaurant charge extra, come in regular sizes.. the sashimi pieces are also about less than half the size of what you would normally get any where else.. So basically we spent $95 for two people and are still hungry hah!We did call the restaurant - not necessarily to get anything from them - but rather to let them know our thoughts on their portions and overall food, and they were not receptive; to the contrary, they were slightly rude. The boss said "this is how we do it".If you order from them just expect a very pricy sushi, not that much food and really nothing special.
It was underwhelming unfortunately. The general tao sauce i quite liked(tangy and slightly spicy and not overly sweet), however there was not enough of it, nor enough chicken in my opinion to warrant the cost. Chicken curry was underwhelming to my wife and she thought the portion was a bit small for the cost as well. The sushi I saw coming out however looked very very good. I made a mistake in ordering the Chinese and after seeing the Japanese food coming out I should have got that instead.Nothing bad or terrible, but also nothing great.
The people are lovely and the food is decent although it does tend to be excessivly greasy but the restraunt is always dirty.
Really fresh fish! I also really like the variety of the menu options.
Incredible sushi- the best I’ve ever had. Definite must try
This has become one of our regular food pick up spots during the pandemic due to its very convenient location, just a short walk from home. We have sampled quite a few dishes from Holiday Gardens & Dodai Sushi though we tend to reorder family favourites (*) and add a couple of vegetable dishes for variety. We have ordered the following from their extensive Chinese & Japanese menu within the past several weeks: Wonton Soup with BBQ Pork ($4) Mushroom Egg Foo Young ($9) Holiday Special Egg Foo Young ($11) Singapore Style Rice Noodles ($11) Garlic Broccoli ($8) Fried Tofu with Vegetables ($10) Vegetable Chop Suey ($7) Beef with Broccoli ($10) Lemon Chicken ($12) *Dinner for Four ($48) - 4 egg rolls, sweet & sour chicken balls, chicken with vegetable with almonds, beef chow mein, breaded jumbo shrimps, chicken fried rice Miso Soup ($3) Yaki Mandoo ($6) Agadashi Tofu ($6) Vegetable Tempura ($7) *Tempura Moriwase ($18) - includes miso soup and green salad *Salmon Teriyaki Dinner ($20) - includes miso soup, rice and green salad *Beef Yaki Udon ($13) - includes green salad Chicken Yaki Udon ($13) - includes green salad Placing an order by phone is easy. Order taker asks for contact phone number and name, notes down each menu item/dish, repeats entire order, declares total order cost then sets pick up time. Pick up is a breeze, so far no waits. Food is always well packaged and complete--no leaking containers or missing items. Each food order always comes with several individually wrapped fortune cookies. Some days we get a surprise with our order--a free item labelled as such and written on itemized order form for our information. We have received free edamame, spring rolls and yam tempura roll--free does taste more delicious. Food arrives at the dinner table still warm and intact. We eat family style so every one gets to taste and enjoy every dish. We usually order a lot so there is enough food to last us 2 days.
Best sushi around Port Credit. Never disappointed. Regular client since 2008.
Tasteless food and small portions. I order take-out and two of the containers were 1/4 empty. I was quite disappointed as there are so many good reviews. I think many of the good reviews must be fake.
