Came on 2 different days since it was nearby during my bicycle ride, initially had the basa and chips special (w/ drink), it's a great value for the price. 2nd time was for Haddock and chips, haddock is overall thicker and much more pleasant, you get what you pay for. The batter and chips were just right, not too oily or dry, the cajun seasoning they have on hand really improves it.Overall if you're nearby, it's worth stopping.
Been coming here for over 20 years. Even after i moved from the neighborhood, i still make the drive to come here. The owners are so awesome. Almost every single time, I go for the poutine. I think I've actually had the fish & chips only a handful of times. But that poutine! People that grew up in the neighborhood knows it's untouchable.
Amazing fish and chips and poutine!!The owners were so nice and considerate, making sure I had an amazing meal! This spot has been around for 51 years and I'm only trying it now.Definitely will be back!
Great little family owned joint. Been coming here for years and would highly recommend. One of the best authentic fish and chips places around. The halibut is truly to die for! PS. I'm not sure why everybody raves about the poutine? It's pretty basic, and uses shredded cheese instead of curds. But if you like basic poutine, I guess it's pretty good.
A classic Woodlands area establishment with great owners who really care about the community and their business. They don’t do delivery due to the high costs associated with it, so please give this place a chance and order takeout. The prices are really cheap and the owners do this so that school kids can afford to eat lunch. Their basa special has only gone up around $0.40 in the last 10 years.
First time eating there and love it.
?? I will go back. Little hidden gem if you’re in the area! Great find for delicious old school fish and chips. Fries are thicker and good, gravy is nice. Fish is thin and light, just how I like it. I would highly recommend takeout rather than eat in but the have a few old seats for a quick bite. Also not the cleanest in the front but the kitchen looked ok and the owner was very polite, helpful and kind. Prices are reasonable. Give it a try!
Great experience....wonderful couple....first time customer.....good old school fish and chips. Fries are fresh ....Fish is thin and light. Two options of coleslaw creamy or vinegar which was a really nice change. Show up or call it in..10 min ready to go. Takeout was easy..... they even put the order in and paper tray so that we could eat it in the car due to covid. Wife running the front was very polite, helpful and kind.....we will be back 100%!
Simply amazing fish and chips, I dare to say the best I’ve had in Canada, and I’ve tried a few good ones! All key elements were available to make it a real fish and chips shop, including delicious mushy peas. Everything was freshly fried to perfection, and the gravy was delicious too! Not to say about the amazing service, simply can’t go wrong!
Hidden treasure. A great place for seafood lovers. Its an old place but food is great and value for money.
