We were so excited to come here as our experience at the Toronto location was awesome. We got the custard and the seasonal peach flavour. Unfortunately the buns were dry and the cream lacked richness and flavour. Save your money and go to the one in Toronto instead, their buns tastes exactly like the ones in Japan
Hiroshima Japan since 1933Associate: Keiko provided Excellent customer service!Great atmosphere, pleasant staff, Courteous, considerate, outgoing, clean & organized shop.I've enjoyed my conversations with the staff.I've ordered an potato croquette sandwich, Price: $6 + tax: $6.78Sliced white bread with Potato croquette, cabbage, special sauce. Cut in half wrapped in wax paper.Soft, tender, delicious, yummy! All sandwiches & desserts are made fresh daily, Quality packaging! The next visit I'll definitely will try more items, the taste of Japan in square one shopping mall.I highly recommend this location!
Great service throughout my visit. The staff was friendly. The interior design is magnificent.
First time trying the buns and loved the cream bun. The sweetness of the bun and the cream were perfect for my taste. I should have gotten more. The egg sandwich is simple but tasty but felt a little pricy for the quantity. Will try more bun flavors from here!
Made some complicated/customized mass delivery order for their hojicha black sesame lattes and was a bit worried because I couldn't get anyone answering the phone to explain... but I just received the order and everything was perfect, thank you so much to everyone who made this happen at the SQ1 location!
I visited this Japanese dessert bar three times last week after Tsujiri's contract expired. If you haven't visited, it's worth a try although it is overpriced for what it's worth. The buns are the best sellers, everything else is not worth spending. I have yet to try their tofu.Verdict: Only buy the buns! Save the tax at 6 or more buns.
Reasonable prices as desserts brand.Limited product line. The taste was just acceptable, it didn’t even surprised me at all with a Japanese brand.I guess I won’t come back next time.
New location of Hattendo in Sq1. I've tried the custard and hojicha (back when they still had it) in the past, today I got azuki bean and chestnut. The buns are generously filled, but the flavour is really subtle and the buns are the same texture you can find at most traditional Chinese bakeries. They're also super small for the high price point. The chestnut was $4.19 and azuki bean was $3.69! I'm not sure if I would go back if this is the cost for 'artisinal' buns but it's worth a try at least once.If you buy 6 buns, you don't have to pay tax.
I ordered the custard caramel pudding and it's very very good. The custard is so smooth and creamy, and with just the right amount of sweetness.
The Apple of my Eye cream bun was fresh tasting (if that makes sense) with a hint of apple flavour and there were tiny pieces of apple dispersed in the cream. The Silky Milk Tea cream bun definitely tasted like milk tea. The matcha had the colour down but the flavour wasn't as strong as I would've liked.
