I have been meaning to extend this review some time as we found a hair in our take out food. As much as I was not happy I realize these things happen. However, the owner was so rude and had such attitude not believing us and eventually just threw the money on the counter to us. Horrible customer service He is so rude and you will see this via his responses to any negative review.
great food nice company lots of parking
I've now had George's Greek Grill twice now and I couldn't be happier with the food and level of service. Great flavour and portion sizes. Love the chicken wrap and the WOW fries are amazing. Highly recommend.
BEST GREEK FOOD IN MISSISSAUGA!!! Visited for first time tonight and I ordered the gyro dinner. While I was waiting for my take out the lady working there offered me a nice little sample of their daily soup. How nice!!! Gyro, tzatziki and sides were best I’ve had in years. They are also very friendly! I will be supporting this small business from here forward. 10/10.
Best Greek restaurant! I loved the food and the service. I ordered several dishes for a catering, and everyone was really pleased. Definitely coming back!I recommend this place 100%.
First time here and it was just ok. I'm giving 3 stars (not less) because I hate to leave a sub par review to a small business during these times but I have to be honest and stick to facts. The 3G sauce and the fries were salty to the extreme. The lettuce in the salad was brown. The gyro was shaped like the butterball turkey bacon which tells me it was probably not sliced from a rotisserie. And I would have liked the butternut squash soup to be thicker in texture with more of a butternut squash taste with less of an overbearing spice. I love spicy food but I needed just a bit more of the flavour of the traditnal soup.
Rice was slimy and tasted funky.Portion looked good at first but realised there was only 1 skewer worth of souvlaki, definitely dissapointing for almost $20.Meat itself was tender and well seasoned, but I ended up throwing most of it out after taking a bite of the rice. Was a dissapointment considering it was an anticipated meal after seeing the ratings of the placeEdit: Owner has replied disregarding my experience. Just goes to show their customer service is poor, and don't carefor the bad experience I had.It also seems another customer who's a regular has had similar experiences, particularly with the rice...Meal was $18.65 out the door.
Gigantic portion on the takeout chicken souvlaki dinner! Tasted amazing too.I just find George's tone in replying to ANY criticism on here disappointing. You're passionate, sure, but you're not going to change anyone's mind on the food with your words.
I've had George's Greek Grill at least 6-7 times. It's the closest Greek food to my house, and it's right next to my doctor's office, so it's convenient. The food is usually fairly good, but not consistently. So, let's talk details, shall we?The first time I had food here, I was impressed, with both the food and customer service. They offered me a sample of butternut squash and it was delicious! I appreciated the gesture, first and foremost, but it was also a good sign of things to come. The pork souvlaki was great.I quickly recommended the place to my parents, friends, brother, and fiance. My brother tried the burger and reported back that it was a little dry. The same could be said about the gyros my fiance had, very tough. My parents found the potatoes to be incredibly salty.I was unscathed, chalked their experiences up to off days, afterall no restaurant is without some mistakes on occasion. However, in my visits back over time, I can attest to the fact that the food is inconsistent.Heres a little more information on that:The souvlaki sticks are consistently great. I especially like that they include some bell peppers and onions on their skewers, I don't know any other place that does this. The 3G sauce is phenomenal. It would be good on literally anything. The potatoes are sometimes good, but more often that not they're too salty. When they're salty, it's far and away the saltiest potatoes I've ever had, anywhere. The biggest issue? The rice. Probably half the times I've had George's, there are very hard/borderline inedible rice grains mixed in with perfectly fine ones. My hypothesis is that it's an old batch of rice mixed with a fresh batch. I'll include a picture of this, as well as what the rice looks like when it's good, so you can compare for yourself. Notice the darker/golden grains, those are rock solid. So, why the 1 star? I'd give the food alone 2-3 / 5. However, after reading George's responses to valid criticism here on his reviews, it's an easy 1 star. I won't be returning. The condescending tone he takes with his customers is unacceptable; being that defensive and rude is absolutely uncalled for, especially belittling people's palates, and telling them to dine elsewhere/not come back. You got it, George. I'll be taking my business to Colossus, I'd highly recommend anyone reading this do the same.
Love to support small business, especially where deserved. Very friendly staff, food is fresh and hot when served. We also got to try a sample of the soup which was absolutely delicious!!! Keep doing what you do because you’re doing it well!
