Terrific meal for the price, went for all you can eat pasta/salad/garlic bread for $12.99 and it was well worth it, pick your sauce & noodle type and enjoy! We had two non alcoholic drinks on the side and with tip it was $45 for two and you’re left full and happy! The service was superb had a great waiter and will certainly come back especially on Wednesday’s!
We visited on Good Friday. When we got our food both my husband and my food was cool. No one came back to check on us. We sat for over a 1/2 hr before our server came back to see if we were finished. Then waited another 15 mins for the server to offer our bill. I asked to speak with the manager and he came over. I explained our displeasure with our experience. He told us our food was warm. I told him maybe if someone had come back to ask about your meal or offer us drinks we could have said something. Hands down the worst service and experience. Please be mindful visiting this location. Save your money.
Amazing service! Some of the best service I’ve had. The restaurant itself is very clean and comfortable. We got our food in great timing. The food wasn’t exceptional but at the price point there’s really nothing to complain about, it was still very much delicious. The way we were treated and accommodated definitely made this place worth coming back to
Me and my colleagues came in for a group of 8, but initially Dave told us that the tables were reserved and made us sit at a 4 person table and squish. Tony our server then seated us at a table fit for 8 and informed us that the tables were in fact not reserved. Dave kept going back and forth making us move everything and treated us with no respect and didn’t want to communicate with us about what was happening. He made everything become delayed and has no customer service skills as he was getting mad at us for his own mistake. He didn’t do the basic service of seating us. The only reason this is getting 5 stars is because our waiter Tony stood up for us and sat us at the right table. He apologized for mistakes that weren’t his own and kept our experience in mind. Our food came right away and he often came to our table to make sure everything was good. Thank you Tony, but as for Dave I think it would be better if he no longer worked there as I know that all the bad reviews are because of him. Tony was the best server we have ever had and he is probably the only reason the place is still running. He deserves some recognition. Also the little kid that worked as a hostess was trying to seat us at the correct place but Dave still yelled at him and made him seat us at the wrong booth. He tried to defend us but Dave is so arrogant and doesn’t deserve this job.
When we entered they told us it’s a 40 min wait and was surprised when we were called in just about 20 mins.I have to apologize for not asking the servers name but he did such an outstanding job with our full order and service. He was ready for anything we asked without a hesitation. Like my husband wanted to taste the beer before he ordered. We were three of us and we all enjoyed the prompt service. I ordered the tomato soup which was so delicious. The other ‘s food was a good portion size and delicious. The only thing I did not like was being seated near the entrance to the washrooms as I got a very strong chemical smell whilst eating. Please refuse that seat if you are ever offered.Food and service was just amazing and hope to go back soon.
We dropped by East Side Mario’s for dinner last night and were offered a freshly made garlic loaf as a starter. The loaf was nice and warm. We waited a little while for a server to come and take our order, however, once we ordered our meals arrived fairly quickly. My drink, the rainbow Shirley was fruity and fun- I enjoyed it. The Budda Boomers were tasty, especially with Mario’s signature tomato sauce. We enjoyed both the Cheese Cappelletti and the Jumbo Shrimp Alfredo, although the dishes could have done with some more seasoning. Lastly, the tomato soup was simple but made for an excellent comfort food option, it was delicious. Our server, Tony graciously offered us freshly shredded cheese on our soup/salad/pasta each time- it was a nice touch! He also made sure to check in on us often which was appreciated.I hope that ESM could alter their pasta flavours a little and it would greatly enhance the dining experience.
*UPDATE* ESM DOESNT CARE IF FRANCHISES ARE RACIST!!! After replying to this review and attempting to show concern for their franchise ESM emailed me once saying: "We sincerely apologize for your recent experience and we appreciate you taking the time to get back to us. We will be forwarding your submission to the applicable party and someone should be in contact with you within 2 business days." This email was sent on January 6th and it is now the 20th. I never received anything in my email that would constitute as an apology or some sort of voucher for this unacceptable behaviour. After reading through a few other reviews of this location it seems that this location has an issue with racism and cheaping out on refills as mentioned in several other reviews. Not surprised after the treatment I received that day. Original review Avoid unless you want to be watched and limited on how much "unlimited" sides you can receive. Wish I could give this place 0 stars. Hands down probably the worst service I have received at any restaurant i've ever been too. Extremely cheap & stingy considering they are supposed to offer "unlimited bread & soup/salad" more like if you order a plate of salad twice they will have 3 separate employees try to lecture you on how it is not allowed to share a few bites with your hubby and then have a manager come out and say "thats how it is" i'm sorry if we are both paying customers we will eat whatever we like between the both of our plates and no one can tell me otherwise. Absolutely ruined my date and I will always warn others to never come to this location, the staff was extremely weird about refills on my bread and salad even though thats what the deal entitled me too. I started getting annoyed at the weirdness the staff was creating for me asked to have the salad I had ordered at least 10 minutes ago to go since they were making us uncomfortable and they also refused to give me that because apparently I was not allowed to take it to go even though I had ordered it earlier? Not to mention when I had finished my first round of salad I asked for a soup next that the waiter informed me he would have to up-charge me for? for what? It is supposed to be unlimited of either of them. Have been to many other east side Mario's that are not weird about any of these things so maybe this behaviour was exhibited towards myself and my spouse had something to do with the fact that it was 3 caucasian people interacting with visible minorities. Most places usually bring me out a large bowl of salad to share and soup when I ask for the next round and have never been treated so disrespectfully and watched and scolded by employees for allowing my husband to eat a few bites of lettuce off my plate. Its sad that a usually good location has gone down the drain over poor, cheap and probably racist management.
First time ordering take out. The service was great! They were helpful with the menu and so efficient with putting everything together. For a large order they had everything put together perfectly and the food tasted so good! They were amazing. ?
Service took forever. Took so long to be seated, there’s barely anyone in the restaurant. The food took forever to come out. On top of that, the chicken Alfredo was very bland and the calamari was soggy. The salad was good. The staff was really friendly too.
Went here recently and enjoyed the food and service. The fresh warm bread was good as always. I ordered the lasagna and the portion was huge and delicious.
