If you are in Mississauga and craving Greek food you gotta hit up Colossus. It's amazing. We've been coming here for well over a decade however didn't realize they moved next door and they occupy even more space now...plus a significantly better patio too! Interior is very nice and spacious. The entrance was a bit confusing as we thought it was the takeout/Uber/SkiptheDishes entrance because all we saw was the kitchen. Turns out that is their entrance which was kinda cool walk through and see the cooks doing their thing.Today we had the classic Chicken Souvlaki Pita and Veggie Pita with salad and fries. Can't go wrong with the classics. Great service overall.If you've not been you must go to the Port Credit location.
4.5/5 -Service is excellent in a friendly way. A bit laidback like true Greek style. This is not fine dining, but still an upscale experience. They have been around 20+ years doing this and I've been going randomly since 2000 or so.Recommend reservations but I walked in at Tuesday dinner. They have a cute patio on the street side of Lakeshore, but it’s fenced in. Dining inside is just as good. Had a great vibe and was busy.Ordered 5 mezes (appetizers):1) Greek Salad - 2-3 ppl can share classic and tasty - no onions almost if that helps2) Saganaki - flaming fried cheese - classic dish if you never tried before. Squish extra lemon on your slice before eating each piece3) Shrimp -Feta Tomato - nice dish. If you love Shrimp, get it. If not, pass.4) Octopus- well grilled, meaty and served with some cherry tomatoes and olives. Add lemon. If you like octopus, a must get.5) Feta Fries - 90% sure they hand cut their own fries. That alone makes them crunchy and delicious. Would order fries every time even though they have great lemon potatoes.Give it a try if you like well done Greek.
Middle-aged waitress with above shoulder length hair served my wife and I for lunch yesterday. My wife asked for a quieter area in the restaurant since we were celebrating my birthday but was told by the waitress that it was OBVIOUS that there were no quieter areas ( it was our first 20 seconds at the restaurant...we didn't know if there were quieter areas ). She also never wished me a happy birthday after being told. Meals came...my wife got the shrimp pasta and I got the lamb souvlaki. The waitress came back and asked my wife how the pasta was but ignored me completely. Again, when we were finished, asked my wife if we wanted containers and ignored me completely. I was going to have a shot of Ouzo for dessert but, due to her rude ignorant behaviour, we decided to leave instead. Her behavior ruined what was going to be a great day for me. This waitress needs some re-education about the hospitality industry and customer service. Great food ( the waitress apparently didn't care to want to know that from me, so I'll tell you, the owner )....but horrible service.
A classic lakeshore spot to the neighborhood locals but a true hidden gem for people visiting Port Credit.Almost everything is made in house fresh, they source only quality ingredients (supporting local farmers) and the rest is shipped in fresh from Greece ( )Jimmy & Andrew S are two amazing guys who will do everything possible to make your meal 10/10!(If you’re at the bar don’t hesitate to ask to have your local news station or sport match put on the tele)
It's been awhile since we visited Colossus, since the pandemic hit and it was great to see them again in their new location ( just next door) and again it was it another great experience only better. Not only the best menu offered at a reasonable price as always, and now the new venue only enhanced the experience. All the best to Jimmy and his staff who delivered a great meal now in a very charming ambience. Fantastic!
Brought my friend for a birthday dinner and was not disappointed. The food was great! Calamari was crispy and seasoned just right, followed by my crisp veggies n salmon. Everything was so flavorful! I was a little bothered by how close the tables were considering the current situation across the globe lol, but it wont stop me from visiting again! The hosts were so friendly and attentive, just an all around good experience. We were both really pleased! Definitely will go back!
Surprised and shocked with the absence of service at all! The waiter invited us himself inside saying he will be able to help us with the table. We went to the front patiently waiting. The woman answering the phone was so mean and rude :( practically yelled at us to get out. And almost all tables were empty. People still prefer takes out. Never ever going back there! Terrible horrible hostess. She needs to learn her manners or be fired! Sad :(
Called to make a reservation and was told to busy to do so. So we thought it was a bit rude but hopeful the restaurant must be delicious as so busy the front staff didn’t have time to take reservations. When we called back we’re treated quite snidely. We mentioned we were vegan and they said there was nothing vegan in the restaurant. Nothing. Welcome to 2022 people. Every good chef should always have a few options for dietary and personal choice in the menu. Disturbing and disappointing!
