I'm from Shanghai and was taken by surprise today. I didn't expect much since it's food court.I ordered salted duck and shanghai big dumpling and it was pretty authentic! dumpling tasted exactly how the little food stalls in Shanghai tasted. They do use MSG.But so does food stalls and cheap restaurant in China.I will come back with my parents to give some more review.

I'm the Gopher (go for this, go for that) today at the Metro Square Food Court and this is one of the food stops.Just 2 items on the menu board to order; 6-2 was the first to be exact. It is the Wuxi Style Sweet and Sour Ribs characterized by the sweetness of rock sugar, sourness of the red vinegar. This dish is traditional food from Wuxi City, Jiangsu Province, China and about two hours outside of Shanghai.Selection 3-2 was the second item of Shanghai House Special Pan-Fried Pork Bun.Take-out was the option even with seating opened within and external (i.e. open tent in the parking lot) to the food court.

Instagram @chopstixinthesix Follow Us!Pan Fried Pork Buns came in 4 pieces, the bottom was fried to perfection, golden, crispy, the filling was juicy, meaty and the bao was perfect in thickness. We also got the Xiao Long Bao, it came in 6 pieces and it was bigger than usual. I did find the wrapping a bit too thick to my liking, but it was still packed with meat, and broth. The food was still amazing regardless, since this is located in a foodcourt, they certainly exceeded our expectations!

I ordered noodle and they gave me rice, I told them wrong order the guy said next time will give me noodle, not sure if I will go back?. Food is average.

(Translated by Google) It's definitely not authentic Shanghai. I asked him if Xiaolongbao is salty or sweet. He told me that of course it is salty, so I laughed...really when I have never been to Shanghai...(Original)绝对不是正宗上海,我问他小笼包是咸的还是甜的,他跟我说当然是咸的,我就笑了……真当我没去过上海……

(Translated by Google) Give me spicy chicken feet like this... Am I going back to the office to heat it up...And it’s really spicy, not delicious, but spicy with uncomfortable throat (I am from Sichuan)(Original)麻辣鸡爪这样给我… 我是还要回办公室热一下吗…而且真的很辣,不是好吃的辣,而是辣嗓子不舒服的辣(本人四川人)

Authentic shanghainese food that just misses the mark but good for a quick fix nonetheless. We ordered the xiao long bao and the pan fried pork buns. These items took around 15-20 min with 3 or 4 ppl ahead of us in line so be ready so be prepared to wait. The xiao long bao was BIG.. lots of soup inside but the skin was a little thicker than preferred. The taste was mild to moderate with a hint of sweetness. The pan fried pork buns were JUICY AND HOT so bite into these cautiously. Just like the xiao Long bao the skin was a bit thicker than preferred but the taste was flavorful with sesame seeds and green onion. The price was also not cheap; comparable to restaurants. Overall, good but not great.

A lot of MSG in the food, which is terrible and not healthy! As an immigrant from Shanghai, I can tell the restaurant will definitely lose business if they put so much MSG in the food and if this restaurant is located in Shanghai where food business is highly competitive.

It's a food court, what do you expect? They're not the cheapest, but like some other reviewers have commented, if you don't want to go to a sit down restaurant for Shanghainese food, this isn't too bad an option. There's one dish we particularly like that's unlike some of the dumplings you can get at some other places. It's 3-6 on the menu, the crispy ravioli - it's probably a bit on the greasier side, like many pan fried dumplings. But something about their filling, dumpling shell, and likely just cause it's pan fried and crispy, but they're fantastic! Nearly every time we go to this plaza, we pick up an order or two. $9 for 8 dumplings isn't exactly cheap either, but definitely something I'd recommend if you like a good crispy dumpling. For the sheer quality of food alone (no ambiance or anything else), they get a 4. Owners are friendly, helps if you speak Mandarin, but you can get away with friendly foreigner pointing to menu items... it works. =)

Eating here was a mistake. Got the fried chicken noodles and it was literally the most plain fried chicken just stacked on a plate with noodles that didn't have flavour. Maybe the dumplings were good or whatever, but the dish I got was the worst thing I bought in a year.
