Ended up here when the restaurant we meant to go to was full. The staff was very friendly and the space was clean. There were just a handful customers on a friday evening. The food is well priced and delicious!! Falafel small dinner plate was $10.49. Small is a good portion. We also got some sides for $4. I also really enjoyed the soothing piano music in the background. I can't wait to come back! (Photo taken after I ate some of it.
Bought some takeout after a movie. It cost $75 for a medium rice, 8 chicken skewers, 10 falafel, a fried eggplant (pre-made) and small baba ganoush (pre-made).The chicken was good and the space looked clean and inviting.I was disappointed the rice was just plain basmati. I can make that at home. The falafel were made fresh but they were not light and fluffy inside and had a consistency more like playdoh. They gave us 6 tiny hummus containers (no garlic) and 1 hot sauce (they said they'd charge us for more). I'm not sure if they were supposed to give 3 hummus and 3 garlic but that would have been better. The hummus itself was watery. The eggplant was so sweet I couldn't eat it. All I could taste was a sweeter ketchup flavour for the sauce that masked any eggplant taste. What a shame. The baba ganoush was mostly mayonnaise, which I didn't like.I am used to eating at Jerusalem Restaurant, (sometimes Paramount and Bamiyan), so that might give you context as to why this food didn't appeal to me.In a pinch, maybe get the chicken breast skewers and make rice and salad at home.
I recently purchased two wraps here. Sad to say the quality of the food here has deteriorated severely. The laffa breads are not made fresh anymore. Instead they used a prepared version/store bought flatbread. They’re skimpy on the food they give you and have increased the costs of their food.I specifically ordered my wrap to be with hummus or tahini - because I’m highly allergic.. after one bite my lips got itchy.. so they have unclean practices with handling their food.
I'm sorry to say, don't go to this restaurant, first of bad customer service they all got attitude and I ordered shawarma in Hummus which came with one tiny pitta bread smaller than my daughter's fist. I requested extra bread they said I have to pay for it with attitude, she said she was the manager and didn't care for the customer.
We had the chicken shewarma. It was huge, and delicious. I liked that you could pick your toppings. A bit pricey, but equivalent to two regular shewarmas. I didn't think I could eat it all, but enjoyed every bite.
I have been eating at ME-VA-ME for a long time at this location. We have been regular customer to them. They know me just by my name even.I do not do reviews for average or bad service. However my recent shocking experience made me to do it to make people aware of it.Their food price went up and food portion is reduced up to half size in pandemic. The pita bread is literally half of the size then it used to before. We have been ordering almost same food all the time which includes dip. On the menu it says, dip comes with pita. We never paid extra for the pita. However last time my husband was asked to pay extra for that. He paid saying this never happened before plus your menu says dip comes with pita. But she was not ready to listen. She said "it is for sitting menu, for take out you have to pay". What's even more ridiculous is we're in a lockdown and you can't even get the sit down menu so you're forced to pay for the Pita you would normally get free.again same thing happened, and she was so rude and mean to him saying "take it or leave it". My husband was so disappointed and walked away, that ruined over evening.Yesterday when I called to order, she said "ohh Varsha, hold on for a sec" then she hung up on me. second time I called she did not answer. and third time she passed phone to some other guy and he said "Last time you made us to cancel your order so you have to come here and pay first if you want the food."This is way beyond my imagination that any restaurant would behave like this with their regular customer. I have been to many restaurants but this is the worst service I have ever received. Anyways, they lost their regular valuable customer FOREVER, and probably many more because of this. Their loss! We are NEVER going back to this place, NEVER EVER!
Smaller portions, they charge you for pita when you buy the dip for takeout. If you sit down (which isn't possible with the lockdown) it's free. LOL.
Surprisingly good! We stopped by for a quick meal after a movie and we were quite pleased with it. Nice selection of pitas and mains with generous portions. The sitting area was quite comfortable and staff friendly. My only complaint was the selection of drinks, which I found too limited. It's a great alternative to the typical fast food after a movie.
Service was quick and polite, our orders arrived quickly (we were hungry...) and the taste was great. All sauces and dressings were provided in side dishes, which is excellent for those of us who wants to keep calories in check. All around pleasure!
New year’s first laffa, that was extremely delicious and mild. The chefs have done it really well. Well organized dine in and well behaviour in the front. Most probably one of my best break fast ever. Thank you Me Va Me.
