Food is good here, but less menu selection compared to other HK style cafes. I had the fried chicken leg on rice. We tipped using the pre-tax total, and the waitress spoke to us and said we have to pay tips on the post-tax total. First of all, tips is optional. Second of all, it doesn't make sense to tip on top of a government tax. It will be awhile before we return to give Matsuya another chance.
Decent HK style western food joint. Don't expect 5 star food or service cuz this is no the keg. But if you're trying to get a steak on a budget, you can get a decent one for under 20 bucks here. Overall good portion size and very quick.
Out go to place for HK style western dishes. Reasonably priced big portions. Always order ahead for take out & it is so convenient. Try their Baked Pork Chop with spaghetti in Tomato Sauce.
just tried their take out. food is average for the price. food taste blend, just like any other hk cafe restaurant. we ordered take out around 2pm, when we went to pick up , the food was ready but the order was mixed up. We had to wait 10 min there for nothing. At the time, the dinning room only had 3 tables, but 4 people working. I would say their food and organization needs more work, other then that, its a average restaurant.
Used to come here often before pandemic. Breakfast was great, I even ordered take out at the beginning of shutdown in 2020. Last week is my 1st time been there after reopen. We went there around 3pm. There were many people eating already. Tables are quite crowded in the middle, while only sitting on the side can keep a bit of social distancing. Food is tasty and customer service is good as usual.
The food was good but the service and attitude of some servers were terrible. They close at 8pm, we arrived at 7pm, since we arrived the lady checking our vaccine documentation was already rushing us and upset with the fact we only speak English and we didn’t understand when she spoke to us. While I was waiting for my dish, I noticed they had a kind of soup I really love, I told this other lady (with short hair) that I wanted to order one soup, immediately she said “Yes, but it is $3.00”. Did I ever impIy I was expecting to eat for free? Finally, my order came and we decided to order 2 more dishes at 7:35, one served took our order and was abruptly interrupted by the lady with short hair, she shouted at her in Cantonese for taking our order and told us that the last call for food was 7:30. It is curious because one person came in at 7:40 and was still able to place his order. Terrible service, save yourself a bad moment and go to other restaurant. There are excellent restaurants in Markham that are authentic Korean. There are also lots of great Hong Kong style restaurants in the area, with good food and good service.

One of my favorite Hong Kong style cafes. I love their satay beef noodle soup with egg sandwiches. They are now open at 10am and no longer offer breakfast menu, so be prepared to choose from a limited menu if u go before 11am. Dine in is pretty spacious, clean and safe.
A typical HK cafe. It's kind of my neighbourhood cafe so we will usually go when we're just looking for a quick bite and don't have anything at home. I like their baked pork chop rice with tomato sauce as well as their baked sole fillet with cream spinach sauce. Overall they're a solid place to go for food.
A typical Hong Kong style restaurant. With fusion Korean dishes though. The dining area was clean and spacious. The food quality and portions were both good. Furthermore, the price was reasonable. It was not busy when we were there. It is allowed to have indoor dining currently, and there were clear plastic to separate the tables. They took customer's forehead temperature before you head in to the dinning area, safety protocal. We will come again to try different items.
