The service was nice and efficient and there was a lot of options on the menu. The decor in the space was also nice! I got the shrimp tempura on rice while my partner got the deep fried pork cutlet on rice with mapo tofu sauce and both were pretty good! I wish that the sauce for the rice on my dish was on the side since it was a little bit difficult to mix with the other items on top but that’s probably just a nitpick. We also tried the fried bread with sesame and brown sugar and that was also really good! The outside of the bread was nice and crispy while the inside was still a little bit fluffy.
Another amazing dessert joint! Mabu has got great hours for a late night snack and awesome lunch specials.We actually went for a late night snack! Even when we walked in at midnight the staff was still very welcoming and hosted us well. We tend to get a feeling of staff not really wanting to serve the clients, but not here!We ordered their specialty toast tower! Wow one of the best desserts i have had!Thanks!
We came here as a group of 4 and we ordered our food at 9:20pm. 3 of our dish came out but the fourth one took 29 minutes to come out. It was a similar rice dish as others so not sure what the hold up was as other food came out around 5-10 minutes.When we asked why it’s taking so long all they said was it’s being prepared. When it finally came out, no comments were made, no additional explanation, nor apologies.Not only that, we would ask for a spoon, tissues, and plate, and the server would acknowledge but not actually give us the items until we asked multiple times or just stood up to grab it ourselves.Only reason Im giving it 2 stars is because the food quality itself was decent.All in all, I would only come back here if other places are closed since this place opens till pretty late.
My first time here as I hadn't try any tasty Taiwanese foods in Toronto.It didn't disappointed me, the foods were delicious, the portions were in good size, and the price was reasonable. The service was good except one male server was not very responsive as we asked him the question and he walked away and didn't get back to us. I will go back to try other different dishes.
Visited on a special occasion with my family and I must say my miso pork hot pot was the best dish! It was extremely tasty, generous proportions, and the vermicelli was perfect with the broth. The mango brick toast was my first brick toast ever and was quite delicious. It did take over half an hour for it to be prepared, so order it in advance! Overall my family and I enjoyed our meals and would come again :)
Many choices of individual steaming hot pot and Taiwanese street food to try and enjoy at this restaurant. A perfect little place to have a quick bite and hang out w friends. Warm and cozy vibes. Staff was friendly. Portion was decent.
It was my second time here, it was great! The service was fast and super friendly. They were really busy but they were still able to keep in demand with their guests. I ordered popcorn chicken, fried tofu and one of their hotpot dishes. The portion was huge and we had leftovers for the next day. The price was decent not too expensive. Will definitely come back to try other items on the menu.
Have been here since my college years. I would come here with a bunch of friends for their desserts. Today, I came here with my family for their desserts once again. However, they don’t have much selections. More or less, worth it! Super worth it! The most delicious! Yum!!
The ox tongue rice is nice, the ox tongue is tender and good size. It’s rather salty but ok when you eat it with rice.The hot pot takes a long time to get to the boiling point as the “fire” below was weak.2 star deduced because1) server did not greet us, no eye contact, no explanation on the food. Basically just put the food on the table and go2) the tables and seats are dirty. They need to clean thoroughly
My first time here but my friend and her family come here often. It was really delicious! Had a bubble tea as well and was really delicious as well. Our server was very unresponsive and seemed like he didn't want to serve us but the other staff were great.Highly recommended this place!
