I first tried Katsuya at this Markham location. They specialize in Japanese tonkatsu: deep-fried breaded pork loin accompanied by house sauce, coleslaw & rice.Garlic chili katsu, added sweetness & garlic chips to the relatively bland crispy pork loin cuts. Other sauce options include curry, carbonara, and a house sauces made from a blend of many fruits & vegetables. I do wish their tonkatsu had more flavour on its own.Takeout katsu plates were well-packed, and also came with miso soup & salad. They were super packed when we visited, so the staff seemed to have a hard time keeping up.

Great place for a quick bite.Large portion of Cutlet, multiple traditional and creative way to choose from.Breading is fresh made on the spot.Pork is a bit dry. Might be a small thing to complain about. The fish Is amazing flavour with the house tartar.

Ordered cheese crabmeat croquettes, terimayo pork loin Katsu and honeycomb fish Katsu. The quality is as expected from the excellent chain. The croquettes are very strong in potato flavor. I wish it would have a bit more cheese and crabmeat. The relatively new terimayo Katsu is like the toppings of takoyaki but on crispy pork Katsu. Highly recommended for someone who likes a sweeter style sauce.Honeycomb fish Katsu taste like a deconstructed seafood hotdog with rice, but in a good way. The fish is fried to perfection, with crispy shell and tender inside.Would recommend to friend and come back when in the neighborhood.

First time ordering from the restaurant. Made use of the 30% off from original recipe, 10% off others if paid by cash. Ordered takeout.Forgot to take pictures before eating, too eager to try.The Tar-Tar shrimp was pretty good and crispy. The original recipe was fine.Tried the Carbonara recipe, a bit disappointed. Kind of too watery and not so tasty.

Things ordered: crab cheese croquette (3pc), cream carbonara + red carbonara pork loin katsu (not pictured)? $41 after cash discountReason for rating: I found the cream sauce a little heavy, wish there was either a little less or not as heavy. I enjoyed the herbs that they have with the pasta as it provided a nice break in texture. The crab cheese croquette is a MUST ORDER. So good and starchy! The cabbage side dish (?) was not great but maybe it's not for my palette. I found it a little too vinegary

Got the original pork katsuya and it was a delight! Service was okay, and I do think the rice was a bit too little, with all the sauce given I could’ve had more rice to go with it. But the sauce and pork was absolutely delicious!

Normally love Katusya, but the portion decrease is really disappointing. The amount of sauce given was so stingy, the container was maybe 1/8-1/4 full. Won't be returning for a while...

Spicy onion pork was good: pretty spicy but not super spicy. Honeycomb pork was good: sweet & mildly spicy. Mayo & mustard were a good mix. It was better than spicy onion.

love the tonkatsu. they use fresh baked bread to make the crumbs, use the crumbs to make the pork tonkatsu. It is very tasty not not oily. love the seating the food and the service. I especially like the mayo sauce tonkatsu. I definitely recommend this restaurant.

Breaded and fries pork or chicken cutlets paired with a variety of Japanese sauces. You can get with stuffed cheese, just blocks or cheese, and even double cheese!Overall the breading and meat is done well as is the sauce. This location has limited seating.I give them 8/10!
