Update 2022 april . I brought a takeout from this location. Food has always been consistent . The quantity is to the brink .Dine in has been open ...GO now before it get jam packed again.Price has changed everywhere...
Haven’t had their food in years. We ordered $110 worth of nine dishes so that was reasonable. It took me three attempts for someone to pickup the phone within a short span of time so that wasn’t too bad. I initially spoke with a man to place my order and I called a second time within 5 minutes to make sure the rice that came with the chili chicken is separated since the child it’s for is an extremely picky eater (if sauce/anything gets on his food he will not eat it). I actually was going to order rice separately, but was told rice came with the chili chicken and my family asked that I called back to check if the rice was packed in the same container. I was told that it automatically comes packed separately so great and I also explained on the second call the reason why the rice has to be separated so one would think they would would remember to pack the rice. A family member picked up the food and when we opened it up at home, we were disappointed that the rice was missing! That meant the child only had fried fish fingers for dinner so we had to cook rice and that defeated having takeout to not cook. It might have been a small rice, but I called twice and they should really double and triple check orders.Food was just okay. The Manchurian rice and Hakka fried noodles were bland. The hot and sour soup was a watered down consistency. Chicken pakoras, broccoli with black mushrooms, and chili chicken were just okay, but nothing to crave for again (sorry to save, but I have had better elsewhere). I didn’t try the fried chicken wings. I got gassy after eating so something to remember this by.
Drove all the way from downtown Toronto and heavy traffic to Markham just to eat here and their website stated that the dining was open and available but when we arrived it was completely closed due to short staff. I asked the gentleman who greeted us very rudely why nobody answered the phone because I did try to call more than five times just to make sure that the dining room was open before deciding to drive 45 minutes in traffic. The man that greeted us was very arrogant and very disrespectful and completely unprofessional somebody needs to give these people a reality check on how to run their business.
Placed a group order and the mixed fried rice I ordered was plain, not very flavourful and only had shrimp and chicken. However, the lunch special prices are reasonable.
Instagram @chopstixinthesix Follow Us!!We got Chili Chicken that came with a bowl of Rice. This came in such a generous portion for the price, there wasn’t enough rice for all that chicken (not complaining haha), it was flavourful, spicy, tender, juicy, and made such a delightful meal!
They never pick up their phone which is a tad annoying but the chilly Chicken is the best in Markham hands down. Been going here for years and even though they put the price up, it’s still worth it
Food is ok especially the chilli chicken. Hard to get them on the phone which is fine they are busy at times. Last time I went there asked for one small hot sauce and the lady charged 50 Cents. She goes chilli prices are high now. I think it's not acceptable. 50 cents not a big deal but blaming the pandemic to make money even on a tiny hot sauce not good. Not sure if I'll go there again.
Must Order: Chicken or Fish Pakora, Hot and Sour Soup, Chilli Chicken w/Gravy, Crispy Ginger Beef, Manchurian Fried Rice and/or Shanghai Noodles (Thick Noodle)
Order food at 5pm by visiting the restaurant because they weren't answering their phone like they always do. They said to wait an hour so I went for a coffee and waited. Came back at 6 and they said it was not ready, they told me to wait another 10 mins, long story short I got my food at 8pm, they didnt even apologize. I ordered manchurrian fried rice, it was hard, the peas were not boiled, it tasted stale and honestly I've never been so disappointed in my life. You've lost my business!
This used to be my go to Hakka place for years, not sure what happened but it seems like they got a new chef or started a recipe after COVID, their food has tasted completely different (not for the better). Their food portions are great for the price, better options out there now but still worth trying out.
