This restaurant features boiling soup cooking raw slices of meat and other ingredients, served with rice noodles. The original Crossing the bridge rice noodle with pork slices (raw) was served on a tray and you put the ingredients in the bowl. We also ordered one with braised bone-in pork and one with braised bone-in beef. The broth is a bit in the salty side and the noodles too soft, as if soaked in water for a long time. Meat were tender and off the bone easily. We also had snacks: crispy pork fillet with Sichuan peppercorn was a bit soggy, and the brown sugar sticky rice was sweet and plain without filling. The staff let us cut and eat the birthday cake after dinner and was nice enough to provide knife and forks.
Average food; below average service; mediocre dining experience.Went there recently for the first time and wanted to try their version of "crossing bridge" noodles. Truly disappointed! The whole point of that is to add your individual ingredients to the piping hot broth. Everything but the noodles all came in one bowl, I spent dinner searching for what was in there. The broth was fine, but the noodles were just okay (this is my fourth time trying 'crossing bridge', so I'm not new to a good noodle)The service was provided by a disinterested, probably overworked teenager, so that about sums it up.The final straw was being served in plastic bowls! I felt like we had ordered take out. Try to eat such a big, deep bowl of soup with that measly little spoon. We had to tilt the bowl to get he broth. This is likely a response to Covid, I understand, but the whole experience was disappointing at this stage. Not sure why they have a 4.2 rating.
Convenient free parking is available on the ground level and underground. It's spacious and clean. This location only accepts debit and cash, no credit card. I am not sure if this is specific to COVID precautions or to this location, but the food was served in the takeout bowl instead of the normal serving bowl. All of the side ingredients were already in the bowl too. I'm not sure how I feel about the boiling soup being poured in plastic bowls. Food was otherwise good. I hope this location is able to hire a second waitress because the single one in the restaurant that day was running between tables and mobile orders and never had a chance to clean up finished tables during the lunch service.
Horrible!! Their food smell and taste like dishwasher detergent. Waitress attitude was rude.
ell known for their "crossing bridge" noodles (there's a long interesting back story on the name of these noodles, look it up)If you're looking for a scalding hot bowl of noodles on a cold wintery day, this should be your paradise.I ordered the tomato soup base and by far it was the most flavorful tomato soup base I've ever had.The iron bowls used for the soup keep the the soup scalding hot the entire duration of the wonderful eating experience. You add the ingredients at your pace and to your liking. A great experience different from the normal hot pot meal.
Delicious noodles. What more can I say?
I can understand why Dagu is still very busy till this day. Compared to all the other bridge noodle restaurants Dagu would probably be my go to. Offered unlimited refill for noodles as well as nice snacks to have on the side. The pork bone soup broth is nice and clean as well as sometimes if I want a little kick the spicy pickled cabbage soup is phenomenal. You could always add extra items for a fee with the soup, I really enjoy their stuffed meat balls.Skewers are also good and flavourful. If you ever get the chance and want a nice refreshing drink I would definitely recommend ordering their mango yakult.Servers are also super friendlyDefinitely recommend (:!
I cannot believe it. So disappointed!
the pork bone soup is very good , I always come here to order it . And the setting is good for us in couvd -19 . amazing!!!
Dined in at Dagu and found out that everything is served in plastic bowls and plates that will go to the landfill. So disappointing to see that Dagu does not care about our planet and is needlessly contributing to our plastic problem. No reason to not use regular glass bowls and plates. I can’t support businesses that are so irresponsible to our environment.
