Not as good as the other locations. The staff are rude and inattentive. Took forever to order and just as long for the food to come. Even getting a glass of water was a hassle.Cantonese chow mein lacked flavour. The Hong Kong lobster was the star of the show, I wish it was a bigger serving. The fried turnips surprisingly was one of my favourite dishes.
Called late on a Tuesday night . 9:45pm . As the regular congee Queen I go to at Kennedy and Sheppard was going to close at 10pm , they said they are open until 11pm. I got here at 10pm staff was clearly upset I was here to eat . I ordered my usual shrimp and egg fried rice and sweet and sour grouper . The grouper was over breaded and stale . The fried rice was good . Only staff that was good ,was a server that brought the food , he had a training tag on. The rest of staff were not friendly or attentive . I will not eat here again
Very good Cantonese style restaurant. Good cooking and big varieties of dishes. Price was very reasonable and service was good. I like the fried tofu much. You should make reservations and book the BBQ meat and duck in advance to avoid sold out for dinner.
Dined here recently for the first time. I’ve wanted to try this place for years! It was Father’s Day so it was super busy but we didn’t want too long for a table. Some servers were a little rude and our order took over 40 mins to get to our table, but again it’s understandable as it was a busy day.We ordered the Hong Kong lobster, lo mein, turnip, friend rice.To be completely honest the food wasn’t that great and was lacking a lot of flavour. My expectations were too high.I wouldn’t come back on my own, or maybe I’ll try another location.
This location is preferred over the Richmond Hill branch.Their food seems more fresh.Service is average.Waiting area is more spacious and has lots of chairs to cater people waiting for a table.
At first I was a bit skeptical of the outside and the name as I was craving dimsum and not congee, however, this place completely surprised me! My friend was craving deep fried squid tentacles and I've had quite a few I'm my life, but these were the best I've ever had. Chow mein was crispy, salty and spicy squid was delicious, and I loved the shrimp wontons. Definitely making this a regular!
I've come here quite a number of times and each time has been a pretty good experience! The food comes out within a reasonable amount of time (even if it's busy) and the food is hot and delicious! There aren't a lot of check-ins from the staff, but honestly I've never needed to wave anyway down for anything other than the bill. I find that it's a great place to enjoy food and chat with friends and family.
Not the same as the location at Agincourt Mall in Scarborough...DO NOT GET THE CURRY CHICKEN lunch special, the meal was not worth the money paid. The chicken provided was pretty much chicken scraps...there's no meat on the chicken, it was the garbage parts of the wings and legs. If I wanted chicken without meat, I would have went for some chicken feet at a dim sum restaurant. The only positive with the curry was it tasted delicious.Went with my wife for lunch(she is Caucasian) and I was pretty offended when the waiter brought over plates with forks/spoons. What?! Just because my wife is white, she doesn't know how to use chopsticks and as for myself...because I am with her, they assume I'm a banana(yellow on the outside and white on the inside)?!!!The soup provided with the combo might as well been grease in a bowl and the spring roll tasted like costco garbage!!!
Very delicious Chinese cuisine, the duck was delicious and the Congee definitely healed the soul. Food service was also really fast.although we were right next to the door so the food got cold very quickly which ruined the experience a little. Would definitely love to come back and try other dishes!
They have a afternoon tea special between 3-5pm which was great, especially for people who eat lunch really late like myself or people or eat dinner early enough to enjoy the special. The portions are surprisingly big based on their price. The bitter melon rib with rice cost around 12, the beef noodle cost 10 and the congee was only 8.50. The flavours were decent, a bit lacking for me personally but still tastes good. While the beef was really tender, the bitter melon was a bit undercooked and too crunchy for me. The food is also served with a drink each and they offer drinks such as bubble tea and red bean ice cream without an extra cost. That is amazing since most restaurant would charge an extra fee for these types of drinks.
