Got fish and chips with gravy and coleslaw, it was incredible! I try to keep my expectations low when having such a popular dish, but this place is one of the best. Plus friendly staff and lovely nautical decor.
The Halibut and chips was light, crisp & delicious. The Poutine was so huge and the cheese curds so perfect just wow.10/10 overall. ?????Really fresh and quality ingredients.This family run spot really hits the spot. I can't wait to go back. Pretty sure I'll be coming here weekly. The staff is also so friendly and welcoming.

One of the best places in Markham to get fish and chips. Living in Stouffville where there are no really good fish and chips places to get fish and chips, this is the first place I head for when I want Halibut fish and chips. Staff are excellent and I have never had long wait time to be served. I had tried another place in Markham for halibut but was served some other type of fish which had halibut marked on the box. These guys know how to make fish and chips, without a doubt.
This place has been our go-to for fish and chips since we moved to the area 2 years ago. We've tried two competitors down the street and can confidently say this place is really the best in taste. The creamy coleslaw is a must have with your meal!
After decades of going to The Bluenose, the same owners, the same quality, the same good value and sense of family ambiance. They often call me by name (with the mask in place) Always busy on Friday night because locals know where to go.They also provide a good portion size for the price, so come hungry. Check out their souvlaki and Greek salad.
I would not eat here, the owner is extremely rude. The customer service was absolutely disgusting, it’s as if we were an inconvenience coming to his restaurant. It’s like he didn’t like the fact that coloured people were there, his attitude was disgusting towards us and if I could give this place a zero star review, I absolutely would. The food was over cooked and just as bad as the service. If you plan on wasting your money and ruining your day this would be a good place for you to come. I ordered a halibut and fries and asked if I could substitute the regular fries with sweet potatoes fries and was immediately given a rude attitude and poor customer service but, was still charged for both halibut and fries and sweet potato fries and then I wasn’t given the regular fries so I was charged full price for half a meal that tasted disgusting. It was clear he did not want to serve me in his distasteful attitude and customer service and it explains why his restaurant was empty when I walked in.
The owner literally insulted me when I ordered a chicken souvlaki dinner for lunch and told me there is no potatoes or rice. As I said thank you and walked away he looked at other customers and said the guy orders a chicken dinner at a fish and chips restaurant and told me to keep walking. Karma will come back for you my friend. I have never left a bad for review for any restaurant, even if I wasn't impressed. Terrible place and arrogant owner.
The best fish and chips restaurant in my opinion and the apple pie was good too. Staff was awesome and warm.
Bluenose is my go-to for fish & chips (and coleslaw). Most places give you a tiny piece of fish covered in too much batter, but here you get a good-sized filet perfectly battered along with thick cut fries. Reminds me of fish & chips from England (including being wrapped in paper). The workers are always friendly and talkative and I feel bad for what Covid has done to their business. But glad they're still around and I'm sticking as a loyal customer.
