We got the pickled veggie and braised beef bowl, both were yummy. I liked the soup base and texture of their hand-pulled noodles (I've had both around and flat ones). They give lots of noodles and I thought my small bowl was a large! The bread sticks were so fresh, was going to try to fritters as well but too full by the end. The menu price is so reasonable here.
We were craving for beef noodle soup so, we came to this restaurant to try out their famous hand-pulled noodle with beef brisket in soup. They were super busy during lunch time on Victoria Day holiday but we got a table right away. The food was quite good while the service was just ok. Maybe they were short of staff. My favourite dish was their Shanghai Pan Fried Bao. It was very juicy inside. The portion of their small size noodle soup was very reasonable. The texture of their hand-pulled regular flat noodle was very stuffed. The price was affordable in general. You can also order food from the menu of the restaurant next door called West Gate. They have the same owner. West Gate serve congee, rice rolls and clay pot rice etc. We look forward to go back and try these another time.We went back on a weekday when they were last busy. The service was better. This time we tried another hand-pulled noodle. We ordered the Classic Beef with regular round noodle and Complicated Cow with regular round noodle. They were both very yummy.
Classic beef: I got this dish w the flat/thick noodle size and omg look how THICK it is ? this bowl was SO SCRUMPTIOUS ☺️Braised beef brisket: this bowl was ordered w round/regular noodles and the beef brisket was so JUICY and TENDER ?The FRESH hand pulled noodles ? were so good omg and the soup base was just amazing ? I would say totally worth the price bc the portions were INCREDIBLE and the taste was so ✨divine✨ mmm ?Cumin lamb skewer: this was one of the best lamb skewers I’ve had! The cumin flavour was really strong and the meat was so tender and tasty with a crispyyy edge!Blackbean pork spare ribs clay pot: the ribs were superr flavourful and I really enjoyed the crispy rice ? at the bottom ? but I did enjoy the noodles more ?Check out my IG page @kellychows for more! ?
Decent noodle place. I like the simplicity of the soup and the variety of noodle thickness. The space was large and the service was quick! Would like to try fried noodles next time!
Food is ok. Two restaurants were combined so you can order both menus. Speed is a bit slow.
Delicious noodles for a good price. The Shanghai bao were very juicy and flavourful. I enjoyed both the regular beef and brisket noodles. Get regular for a clear and light flavour, and brisket for a stronger taste.
Good portions of hand pulled noodles. Texture is on the firmer side. Flavor is good and pricing is average for such a restaurant. Not particularly outstanding but within the expectations of what you would expect for a smaller noodle restaurant.Attentive service and quick.
The Braised Beef Brisket soup noodle was very tasty, even the Vegetarian noodle soup was good. Great potion and reasonably priced.
I was feeling for some hand pulled noodles today. Had their braised beef noodle. I like the choices of thickness and shape of hand pulled noodles they have. Soup is a bit bland and not much beef. A hit for someone that enjoys Al Dante noodles but can be a miss if looking for flavourful rich meaty soup.
Honestly this is my first time to try this restaurant, and it gave me a surprise. The pickled veggies are so appetizing and crisp. The rice noodles rolls are soft and thin. When I tried the salted fish and minced pork claypot, feeling like back to Guangdong lol, it tasted like mom’s dishes. Sang ji bao also a good try, but just need to finish them immediately. Otherwise they will be soft and the bottom will not crispy.Nice dinner and definitely will come back to try other dishes.
