Wonderful! Had a fish allergy, was able to substitute with salmon at no cost. Beyond grateful for this gesture.Fresh tasting, thawed nicely, and presented beautifully.

Having grown up in this community, I was curious to check this place out after seeing it move in a while ago.I enjoyed my experience overall, but wasn't blown away by any means. The way they laid out the space was certainly nice and the staff were good at anticipating our table's need for more tea without us having to say a word or look up!That said, I was least impressed by the food. I ordered the chicken teriyaki box with sushi and sashimi but found it to be underwhelming considering the price point. It wasn't bad, it just didn't stand out as the chicken was very serviceable (not dry, typical cut of chicken, but also a very standard teriyaki sauce), and the fish was neither of standout or poor quality. What's interesting to me is that there's both higher quality sushi at a similar price, and similar quality sushi at a lower price very close by... You won't be disappointed, but I'll just say that their competition is very stiff in this area.

This is a nice gem we found in the Markham area.We visited on a Friday night and they are busy.Restaurant is 50% full and they are preparing for a lots of take out orders.Only one server when we got there and she is running around but manage to keep everyone happy. They have Korean fried chicken on their dine in menu and I love Korean fried chicken and they make it well.Everything we ordered come out at a reasonable time and everything is very presentable. Our family love the quality of their food here.Services is also amazing!!!! They feels like we have to wait for our food for a long time and give us free appetizers to try.... Lovely! When we leave, we are on our way out and they give us a bag of food and said they are free for you to take home..... Wow... Some seaweed salad and some dumplings we can eat the next day!Highly recommended!!!

Finally gave them a try and glad we did! Gal's sushi was our go to but we finally decided to try Araya which is much closer to home.Service was great, very attentive!Gyoza was a miss for us, too oily and not the usual style we like. The uni was so fresh and delicious! So glad my husband doesn't like uni so I had both myself! We got the medium Sushi Maki platter, everything on it was great and yummy, and it was much more filling than we thought. Will probably switch our regular sushi order from here now ?

Instagram @chopstixinthesix Follow Us!We got Medium Sushi Maki Combo. This platter came with 42 Pieces of Sushi & Rolls! It had California Roll, Spicy Salmon Roll, Green Dragon Roll, Sushi and Torched Sushi! The platter was so well made, ingredients were fresh, and the Rolls were all perfectly rolled, the Rice to Filling ratio was also on point!

Small, cozy, friendly. Serving a very wide variety of sushi, sushimi, beautifully presented dishes. All food is fresh and made to order. Every item was delicious and they work hard to please their customers.

Our first visit to this small but cozy and nice restaurant, our server was Connie, she was alone, but she assure us and make us feel very comfortable, we didn’t wait long, the sashimi is fresh, the shrimp temperature is also very tasty, the price is very reasonable, overall we have very good experience there, Thanks Connie for the kind service, we will be back soon.

Waited over an hour for a pickup delivery that we ordered earlier in the day. Yes, it was busy because it's Mother's Day... but still accepting walk-in orders when you can't fulfill the orders you already accepted? Many people waited a long time with us... we weren't the only ones.Food was good in the end... so updated my review to 3 stars.

Staffs are friendly with good customer service.Food definitely has big room for improvement. We ordered a sushi platter and Korean style fried chicken. The sushi is on par as regular grade sushi, the salmon is not sweet, BC tuna taste like rubber, red tuna is extremely fishy. The rice texture is a bit too wet, and the vinegar and sugar wasn't mix evenly. I can taste one sushi is sweeter than the other and one other piece is more sour. The fried chicken, looks great, smell great.Once u have a bite, it is disappointing. The batter is extremely thick. The chicken is not juicy like wasn't made from fresh.I take deeper look and realized the chicken was fried once and put on batter to fried a 2nd time. It is greasy and the thick batter absorb too much oil which make the whole experience terrible.I will not return due to the food quality.

Araya Sushi is qmazing! I've been to many sushi places in Markham, Araya is my absolute favorite! It's very hidden and you wouldn't notice it unless you really look. I decided to try it once just from seeing their Sushi sign they have outside and never look back, is even better than Osaka that's just up the road and much more popular! Try it out for a different experience!
