The cold air blowing on the food...didn't help keep it warm for long and we were 'freezing' most of the time! It was not a warm/hot day outside...so the a/c was turned up unnecessarily!! We had an excellent server...very accommodating and pleasant...ready to assist! The food was good...french fries you could get/make anywhere! Complimentary birthday dessert...tasty!
We had an amazing dinner tonight as a family and Martin our server had such a great personality and was very engaging! You won’t be disappointed with Martin! See you next time.
My wife and I have enjoyed the Keg restaurants in St.Catharines and Peterborough. Both of those establishments are excellent with decor, service, and food. That’s not the case with the Keg – Masonville. The decor was nothing special, the service was ho-hum, and the food nowhere near the level of the other two mentioned above. Perhaps we visited on a bad night. Given our experience with the other two Kegs, we will likely try again.
Great food and amazing service!
First time there. The burger was awesome. Chicken and ribs were really good as well. The desert was delicious. Our server Matt was amazing. He explained all the dishes and flavors really well.
Second time in a row and I’m not a fan. This time I just got a burger and it was half burnt. For 22$ I expected better. I think for the price the presentation could be better also. Last time I had steak and lobster. It looked like it was thrown on the plate so I figured they can’t mess up a burger. But they did. I think they rely on the name but that can’t last much longer with the way things are. The server seemed annoyed with requests and asking “out of turn”. We split the bills and decided to change one of the bills. It was definitely a hassle the way the receipt was snatched away.
Over priced and under staffed.We went for dinner here after receiving a gift certificate for $200. If i was going to spend $200 on a meal, it will never be at the Keg.The food was good. Steak was great, prime rib was sinewy and the rest was pretty average.Our waitress was very nice and polite but had not been taught how a good meal should flow. No steak knives when we recieved or meals, drinks took too long. Our finished plates sat in front of us for a long time while we were continually asked if we wanted dessert. The angry looking boss man walking around killing any vibe.This was a pretty disappointing experience.. there are many great independent restaurants around that can provide a better meal for less money.

Being in the industry myself for well over a decade I had never been to The Keg. I randomly decided to go one day with a friend of mine. We called to make a reservation and no one answered. I was shocked because it was The Keg. I waited about 10 mins then called back and the phone was answered on the first ring. I made a reservation for 6:30pm on a Wednesday. When we arrived we greeted with a warm welcome. On the way to our seat the host pointed out where the washrooms were, asked if we had been there before and told us who our server was. As we were seated we were asked if we would be having wine tonight. We denied the offer and wine glasses we removed form the table. Our server was very friendly and was quick to make suggestions of signature dishes. I ordered the scallops and my friend ordered which I think was mushrooms with cheese. Everything was great, the sever arrived quickly many times checking on us checking both quality of our dishes and our experience. She then took our mains, I ordered the Teriyaki sirloin with a side of mushrooms and my friend ordered a regular sirloin. Both were cook perfectly. Our server then offered both desert and a coffee menu. She sold me on both. Again from never being here before I was very impressed, from the food, the attention to detail and then severs crisp uniforms. Only thing I would touch on that seemed out of order was the knife service. The knife tray was behind my friends head on the separating wall and the washroom though very clean had lots of paper towel and toilet paper on the floor. Could be due to covid and people using it to open then door then dropping it on the floor on the way out. Will be back for sure.
Evan was awesome, he’s the entire reason I’m even leaving this review. The Keg is always amazing; great food, atmosphere, service…. But Evan tonight was the best server I think I’ve ever had and he made our night. We came in sometime around 6:40pm and had movie tickets at 7:35pm. Somehow Evan managed to serve us apps & steak dinners and even left us enough time to make the start of our movie. The food was spectacular as was the service. Thanks Evan, we will be requesting you the next time we come for dinner!
