The whole family decided to give this place a try and it was amazing. I can not list all the food we ate because we ordered a lot. Ramen, sushi, noodle dishes etc.. Everything we ate was super yummy. The portions we great, not super huge, not small but just right. Everything was fresh and cooked to perfection. The staff was friendly, polite, knowledgeable and helpful. The place itself is small and it is by no means fancy. However, it was clean with some fun decorations. Cozy.Honestly, I can not say enough great things about this place and I am looking forward to my next trip there.
I've been going through a lot of stress lately, including moving, so I've been ordering so much takeout... and I think a good 90% of it has all been from this place. Their sushi is delightful, their salmon teriyaki is superb, and their beef fried rice I am quite literally living on it. Thank you so much for sharing your food with us!
We ate in at Tanakaya recently and had a extremely lovely meal! We were very hungry and the food was served quickly, hot and delicious!Above all, the staff was kind and generous and we will certainly be back!Thank you again for the great meal.
A small Japanese restaurant inside the Covent Garden Market in downtown London. The restaurant's capacity is low but it offers a wide selection Japanese goodies including, ramen, tempura, bento box, fried rice, gyoza, katsu. These dishes are served with a variety of meats and seafood.
I was so excited for the chicken but instead I got crumbs.. where’s the chicken?? I feel scammed it’s nothing like the pictures or the description.. why did I pay 20 dollars for fried bread crumbs
We have been going here for several years and have always had great service an excellent food. Their regular Binto Box is very good. The Tokyo Binto Box is great. Best Miso soup I’ve had. The Tempura Shrimp is always great.
Straightforward Bento with lightly battered Katsu chicken. The pork broth ramen was very light in flavour, but that's what my husband wanted; he said BBQ pork had a good ratio of meat to fat and the egg was very flavourful like they infused soy sauce in it.
Got tempura roll and spicy salmon roll. They were mediocre. The rice was overdone and overworked so it was too sticky and too chewy, much like the ones you get from grocery stores where the rice in the sushi is overwhelming. The spicy sauce they put in the spicy salmon roll was spicier than what you get at most other places so if you like spicy, you would enjoy/appreciate the spice level.Tempura had a nice crunchy coating, giving a nice texture. They also sell bubble tea. Haven't tried it but it's a nice option for those looking to get Boba while shopping around covet garden market.
Tanakaya Restaurant is so good. The Japanese cuisine is so authentic. Food is prepared fresh in front of you and as you order. It should come as no surprise that something this good will also cost a pretty penny.Very good and comparable to your dine-in restaurant choice downtown. If you are looking for a superb Japanese experience, try Tanakaya!
Few places serve vegetarian ramen and do a good job. I had a vegetarian gyoza ramen in spicy miso broth, with a marinated egg. The food was served pretty fast which is always impressive. It tasted really good too. The broth was warm and spicy - perfect on any day. The gyoza were plenty and very full. They soaked up the broth over time and got juicy which made the flavour better. The portion size was plenty to justify the price. Highly recommend anyone to try this. They are very accommodating of your dietary restrictions and that is always good to see.
