Went to Mexicactus for dinner with a group of 3. Ordered the chicken quesadilla a la grande. Decent portion size, lots of flavour but missing some heat. It would be nice to have some hot sauce on the table but probably not there because of covid. The waitress let us know to ask next time we go. The chips and salsa they give you to share with the table are excellent. My dinner mates ordered tge burrito and tacos and enjoyed both meals. The service was excellent. I would recommend and will return.
Delicious meals with a wide variety of mexican inspired dishes. My meal was incredible. I would be happy to go back again and I recommend it for anyone looking for great mexican food in London
We’ve been there a few times but not in a while. Looked like it had maybe changed ownership. Our server was very nice but his cologne was overpowering & made me kinda loose my appetite. He didn’t write anything down when we ordered & my husband got the wrong food. My daughter ordered just a steak but got the loaded steak which was extremely spicy. I wasn’t overly impressed with my dinner which is hard when you are spending a bit & it was my birthday dinner. I used to really like it there & loved supporting our local restaurant.
On a quest to find London’s best Mexican restaurant with quality ingredients at reasonable prices. Tonight we were @ Mexicactus on Trafalgar just east of Highbury. The location and exterior appearance are not great BUT we certainly enjoyed our leisurely dinner. Service was friendly and efficient. We felt immediately comfortable! As soon as we ordered, a generous portion of free chips and mild flavoured salsa arrived. Daughter was told by a Spanish friend that REAL tacos are made from corn so she ordered the Golden Tacos. There were 6 cigar sized deep fried tacos stuffed with chicken and cheese and topped with a mound of shredded lettuce, tomato and a salsa blend with sides of refried beans and rice for a very reasonable $14.99. My chicken chimichanga was crispy and accompanied by light fluffy rice and refried beans that tasted like they should. It also came with a side salad with very fresh lettuce for $17.95 They were in no hurry to rush us out the door. We had an enjoyable experience and will return. We rate Mexicactus first out of our 2 Mexican meals so far.
Yummy enchilada! Didn't care for the appetizers that we had which were the coconut shrimp and stuffed jalapenos. The shrimp were ok but they were served with tartar sauce and that was a weird sauce for the shrimp. The jalpenos were mushie. The main dishes we had were excellent. Overall a solid 4 stars.
Definitely a hidden gem! Sol beer and enchiladas are a good combo. Friendly and attentive staff in a clean and welcoming environment.
One of the best Mexican food in town. I had no idea we had such good Mexican food around. Trust me guys must try place for Mexican food. The flavours were delicious and the spices were excellent. Our server Guarav was friendly and suggested some really nice dishes. The guy is really good at his job.Keep it up.
First time at Mexicactus and I totally enjoyed the food, the atmosphere, and the great service. Thank you for making our visit enjoyable.
Wanted to visit this place e for some time and it was beyond my expectations! Paella was amazing and a little different from the Spanish one I am used to. Absolutely deli it's, good portions and reasonable prices
Chicken Chimi, deep fried ice cream and a Mexican burger for a change. We have went here several times and have really enjoyed it. This time chimi had barely any sauce, tiny bit of sour cream dropped ontop (I had smeared it before the pic), very little rice or beans.I was so surprised!! Tasted great as usual but skimpy serving this time.Burger was good but will stick to authentic menu in the future.Ice cream was fantastic ? I could see going there, just for that.
