Terrible experience. The take out area is filthy and disorganized. Junk leaning against the walls, and dust piling up on top of everything. I ordered $70.00 worth of take out and was provided approx. 20 min. wait. I waited 50 min. and when asked when the order would be ready I was told in another 5-7 min. and that the kitchen was very busy. So, the patrons sitting comfortably in the dining room, sipping cold beer are being given the priority whereas those standing in the take out area, waiting for their orders forever are being ignored. And I tipped too! For what??? Finally, the seafood linguini had a funny smell, so I threw it out and I didn't even receive my Caesar salad I had ordered. I used to enjoy Eastside Mario's before the pandemic. I will never go there again.
Where to start.....I arrived with my wife to this location on Saturday at 3:15 pm two weeks ago. We were meeting her sister & brother-in-law for an early dinner. My wife and I arrived first and we thought we'd grab a table.Someone was leaving the restaurant and we went in. A server came to the door and said the restaurant is closed. (At 3:15pm?). She said there was a sign on the door and she told us the restaurant is closed until 4 pm.I asked why. She said it was to get ready for dinner. I've been to this location a number of times and I never recall the restaurant closing between lunch & dinner. She told us we'd have to leave and come back later. I said there are at least a dozen tables where people are in various stages of eating, waiting & ordering meals. I simply asked why other were allowed to dine in the restaurant while we were being rejected? I inquired 'are you simply understaffed'? She said I don't have time for this and walked away.My wife waived over someone who looked like a manager. We explained what just happened. He said we couldn't take any more customers until 4 pm because they were overwhelmed due to not scheduling enough staff. (Well a little bit of honestly was appreciated but it's still excuses in my book). We waited outside and when my wife's sister and brother-in-law arrived, we told them the story. They were upset as they drove from Port Stanley. We ended up going to Angel's Diner instead. They had plenty of staff and we well organized.Extremely disappointed.
Service was not the best . We got our food and only one of us had cutlery . I tried getting our servers attention multiple times. I had to ask the host to get her for us . Every time our server delivered something to our table she ran away . never asked if we needed anything , or checked in on us after we got our food . the food was cold and the bread was soggy . Me and my boyfriend enjoyed coming here . Then when we got our bills handed to us she ripped it out of my hand before i could even look at it . Very Odd. Extremely disappointed tonight . Not sure if i will be back even though i love lunches there . Maybe it’s best not to go in for dinner and just stick with lunch times.
While visiting with family in London, Ontario we had dinner at East Side Mario's. This was my second visit to this chain restaurant and my first to this one. We were promptly seated and our orders taken. I ordered the Lasagna and my wife had the Spaghettine Primavera w/Goat Cheese. . Our meals were served hot and they were very tasty. I found the ricotta cheese mixture very creamy. This was a very nice experience and our server did an awesome job.
Please try to book in advance because you might not get space while walk-in as they have staff shortage. We were offered take out instead of dine-in because of staff shortage at this location as well as response was also not customer friendly. Recommended to reserve always for this place.
I went here today for lunch with my husband and 4 year old son. We've never felt so invisible and downright unwelcome. Top to bottom, every interaction we had was rushed and we were made to feel as if we were an inconvenience to the staff. We were frequently ignored and even when our son tried to make small talk with the server, he was rudely dismissed. Even our four year old knows how to treat people better than this. That the food was mediocre wasn't even noticeable compared to how we were made to feel. My husband tried many times to wave down our server with no luck. Other staff saw his efforts, but did nothing to make her aware that we needed her help. And one serving of bread (by the hostess, not our server, after we had to request it) while other customers received multiple helpings, was only a comical addition to the revolting customer service we experienced. Never again.
Went in with my family to celebrate my birthday. Hosts were very kind at the door and made us feel welcome. The food was delicious and warm and we couldn’t get enough of the bread. Our server was very attentive and brought us lots of refills. Manager came over to table and wished me happy birthday. Would come back again!
Worst dining experience at this location. We made a reservation for 7 and were being forced to sit in a booth clearly made for 4-5 people. When we tried to get another table to accommodate not only our large group but the two people in our group who are disabled we were told no. We decided we would squeeze into the booth but I told the manager politely that I would be contacting corporate and when I said that I was told to leave. We recorded the entire interaction because something just felt off from the minute this woman approached us. So unfortunate that we were trying to enjoy your first family meal together (3 of us came from Toronto) and instead were humiliated and told to leave for simply requesting the table we reserved. I was unaware that East Sjde Mario’s discriminated against the disabled but now we know and will be actively pursuing this matter.
This rating is based specifically off last night's experience. I have had positive experiences with this location but last night was frustrating. We ordered delivery and just as driver was arriving, the restaurant called us to inform us they had forgotten the pizza from our order and they were hurrying to get it out. After around 30 minutes the pizza arrived and it was cold. It seemed as though they hadn't been keeping it warm while it was waiting to be brought or it wasn't prioritized to get to us first. So after reheating it in my oven for another 10 minutes, the food was ready to eat. I realize that accidents happen but I was underwhelmed with the response to rectify the situation and the quality of the food upon arrival.
Hadn't been to East Side in a couple of years. Was a great experience.
