It was my first time trying Fish and Chips, and as a person who usually avoids eating sea-food (because I hate the taste), I could say that this place is one of the top 5 restaurants that I would go to again and again. The taste is marvellous, the freshness is unmatched, and the staff is like the cherry on the top. The waiters are very friendly and polite. I recommend this place to anyone who likes fish and chips.
After the last positive review I made which was 5 star, we are sad to say things radically changed this time. Chips were so bad we couldn’t eat them. Fish was just ok, not a lot of cod , mostly batter (light) . Mushy peas hot and tasty. Rhubarb pie was a disaster!! The rhubarb was raw!! They still charged me for the one scoop of ice cream on the top?We have favoured this restaurant for as long as it’s been open . Such a disappointment, hope this was a one off!
We were greeted by the server (Sue) like we were old friends. We arrived tired and hungry after a long afternoon and she couldn't have made us feel more welcome. Food was delicious. Dining room and washrooms were clean and well stocked, but the best part of our experience was Sue's service. She was genuine, warm and everything you want in someone who's taking care of your needs after a long day. Can't say enough about her outstanding service...looking forward to dining at Archie's again very soon. Thanks so much, Sue ?
If you love some old world charm and the ambience of a cosy diner, then this is the place to visit. They have the most amazing of staff who very warm and cordial. Food is great and not pricey at all. My wife and I shared a combo option that included fish and chips with shrimp paired, and a separate plate of onion rings along with two glases of orange juice. This felt sufficient for the both of us and our tummies were full for about 35$ after taxes. Try this place out guys. I am sure you will enjoy the experience.
Ordered the take out cod dinner for 2. what a disappointment, I waited for it to be ready and it was cold and soaked with grease. a waste of 38$ I like the breakfast but Archie's seafood is not good. Will not be going back.
any restaurant that has more than two types of fish and charges almost equal prices for both is not a place I want to eat at.
What is with these restaurants thinking they can overcharge us like this. Thank God they have the menu outside because we parked, saw the outrageous prices and quickly found a better place to eat. $15 for a single piece of fish and chips? You gotta be kidding me.
Eggs were prepared perfectly over easy with no runny whites! Sounds trivial but it makes or breaks a perfect breakfast. Great service as well!
This is an amazing breakfast spot!! The food is inexpensive and it's one of the tastiest breakfast spots you can go to!! There's no fish at all on the menu in the morning so don't let that dissuade you from coming! The staff are quick efficient and take care of all your needs perfect service as always!!
Always the best in cleanliness, food prep, waitress attentions...yummy...then there is their PIE section....make sure you leave room!! Pack up part of your dinner to take home just so that slice will get to come out of the cold!!
