This pub has the best atmosphere in KW. Staff are fantastic and the patio is great. The live musicians they bring in always have everyone in the bar singing along. Can't recommend this place enough.
A great community pub that makes you feel welcome and at home. The food is great, the bar is beautiful and well constructed, great patio. A departure from the feeling of a corporate owned bar with no soul. The owners put their heart into this place and it shows. The atmosphere is very much of a proper Irish pub.
Cozy pub with a lot of heart. Bartender made us feel welcomed and we had good Irish whiskey recommended by him. Definitely will go back and take my friends here.
Dropped in for a bevy before dinner out with the gals. Motley crew hanging at the bar and patio area. Very loud, disrespectful talk (rude remarks, off colour jokes). $3 shots which probably brings in the clientele that you find there.Shared the pub platter and it was nothing special, greasy fried food from a freezer. It looked nothing like what is shown on their FB page and expensive for what you get.We did not enjoy our time there and prob will not return, very much a biker bar vibe. Not a family friendly environment nor a place for middle aged ladies.
Stopped in for a pre dinner drink with a group for friends. Very loud local crowd around the bar and patio area. Plenty of vulgar discussions going on including woman's bodies, gays, sexual acts. Not the vibe a group of middle aged women were expecting before a nice night out. As the pub advertises, we expected a "True Irish" pub feel. We shared the pub platter. Small portions for the price. Nothing exceptional as everything obviously comes frozen. Don't go here with your parents, children or respectful persons!
Not a true Irish Pub. It has become a dive bar. Regulars are vulgar and you will hear a lot of homophobic, sexist and transphobic hate speech. Owner have allowed this to evolve over time.
I have been going to this pub for a little over 2 years. It used to be so much fun, lots of folks gathering and getting to know each other, families etc... I have noticed over the past year it has started to become a different vibe. Lots of vulgarity from the bar, not a place I would bring any of my friends or family. Recently that has escalated and I have heard incredibly discriminatory things from some of the regulars. Not somewhere I will return unless the business owners decide to speak out against this type of hatred.
I will never set foot here again. I went the first time a month ago and one of the owners was speculating loudly about the new servers pu*** to regulars. Last night there was some very concerning and aggressive conversation among regulars that involved extreme views against gay people. The bartender was doing her best but clearly had no backup. I'll never come back and a number of other customers expressed similar views. According to one of the regulars the owner (the d-bag who harasses his employees) doesn't really get involved? Fat surprise there.Horrible experience, left me sick to my stomach. Some of theseregulars" should be banned and the owner held accountable for his abhorrent behaviour.
This place could have been so great... but it all went downhill when they stopped playing Irish music, cut back on the food quality, let it get dirty and dusty, and allowed it to become a dive bar with incredibly unsavoury folks. In the last six months the clientele has started to go downhill. I have unfortunately heard incredibly bigoted talk there lately. I have heard regulars talk vulgarity about servers bodies, seen customers touching servers inappropriately, heard the “n” word and the “r” word casually, comments and jokes about the LGBTQ+ community, including purposely misgender people. Just consistent hate and bigotry from the same group of regulars and the owners are aware, they could have shut it down or spoke out against it but I have yet to see either happen.I have had more than one Google review removed - I am just trying to let folks know it is not a safe space, nothing is false or exaggerated but they seem to keep getting "flagged." The owner posted their own five star Google review stating it was an "accepting place" and as someone who is in the LGBTQ+ community - it is NOT SAFE nor anywhere near accepting, steer clear.
Went for Wednesday wing nite. A mistake! Service was hardly there one waitress for bar, dining room and patio. She was not the nicest either. Was rude at answering questions and when asked about food and drink after 20 minutes she said I know. Food was horrible. The grease in fryer needed to be changed. Coleslaw awful, and their steak and Guiness pie had one piece of meat in it. I asked if it came with anything and she said no but it came with a salad. I had ordered coleslaw but never got it but was charged. Portions are SUPER tiny . Wing super small and six in an order Don't go there except for a beer in a can Bills came after asking twice and waiting. They were incorrect. Very disappointed.
