My wife and my children have been coming here for the last 14 years. I can’t seem to go to any other Sushi restaurants including the ones overseas without my family and I comparing the quality, service and the prices. Sushi Star comes on top. We also appreciate the attention of the staff for preparing sushi to the way my wife likes (little rice…).
First impression was that we had food on our table within 5 minutes of sitting down! Kid friendly staff, very nice and super friendly. Constantly clearing tables to make sure that you have room for more. There menu is very broad and offers you options I haven't seen at other Sushi restaurants. Well cooked delicious and flavours! REALLY ENJOYED THE LAMB ON THIS MENU! Would suggest this to anyone including those not so sushi lovers!
This place is simply amazing. We drove all the way from Mississauga to Kitchener just to eat at to the best sushi place in town. The food is superb, their food is extremely well plated, tasty, fresh and they have the best customer service ever. You must try this place!
This place is a gem in the kw AYCE. I’ve been to the one near T&T about a month ago and The bad service food I got nearly made me wanna give up AYCE sushi. But my friend recommend me to come here because they had a great experience here during family gathering. So I tried the dinner menu as she mentioned. The torched sushi and sashimi is so delicious and fresh. Right temperature and cooked so nicely. The other stuff like grilled salmon and lamb skewers are so good as well!Service is so friendly and nice. Finally gets friendly and caring conversation. I love how passionate they are about their own food and service! Truly a Gem!
One of the best sushi in town. I really love this place. Food is always coming very fast and the taste is amazing. Service is also nice and friendly. I definitely recommend this place and for sure try torched salmon sushi!!!
I had a very weak bowl of miso soup. I was surprise and disappointed to have watered down soy sauce. just say 'no'
It was a Sunday morning. We had Tim Hortons around 9am and we were on a rush to get to London… fast forward 12 hours, we’re almost back in Kitchener when we decided to try a sushi restaurant that we heard was amazing.Might I say we were utterly surprised to say the least. Some of the best sushi in the city that definitely fulfilled our cravings and we will be back for more. From soups, to salads, sushi to tempura, ice-cream to cheesecake, the entire experience was delectable. The ambiance, the taste, the service, the presentation — it was impeccable; it was the sushi night we had been wanting for.As a vegetarian, I would say you should start with the yam sushi and avocado hand roll.
Dining here is such a comfort and a luxury. Each morsel is a work if art, as breathtaking as it is subtle. The presentation is beyond thoughtful. Each culinary jewel arrived at my table as if it was a personalized gift, and they literally brought me flowers! Real Flowers!!For real, I am so glad I came here tonight, and they made me feel like they were glad too. Sushi Star is definately the best sushi in Kitchener-Waterloo and the best sushi I have ever had in my life! I'm not even kidding tho, seriously!!!
The food here has a great variety. It offers from regular Japanese sushi to authentic Chinese skewers! I particularly liked their thick cut sashimi, and the desserts. Sago sweet soup was a new recipe to me, but it was way better than everything I got from other sushi shops. A must try for sure! For ice cream lovers! Try their snowWhite ice cream! The favor is really unique, it taste like vanilla ice cream bar, but the milky flavor is way stronger than expected. The plating here was also really nice and great for pictures.
My friend and I went for all you can eat, and we did just that. Great food, great service. We will be back.
