Today was our anniversary so we decided to try Rustico. We were not disappoint. Everything about dinner was amazing. From the excellent service to the amazing food. We will definitely be going back.
First time there. The food hands down was authentic and , flavourful. Best Italian food I’ve had in a very long time. I am celiac and that was probably the best pizza crust ever!! My son had the gnocchi with chicken, bacon and walnuts and it was delicious. Would go back for sure. However, not sure if we went on a “extra busy” day or what, but the length of time to wait for everything was disappointing. We waited so long for our drinks, and food that it was getting kinda ridiculous near the end..I didn’t have to wait long for my bill, but saying that, I would go back. At least I know what to expect for next time.
4 starts because it took a little too long for the pizza to come out,and it could've been better ,I suspect they didn't get it right the first time.Donuts were not as advertised so disappointing on that aspect.Other than that, food was fresh , super cute patioAnd our kiki was allowed with us as well, bonus points there!
First time to Rustico’s tonight. Was with my family for a early birthday celebration. As a vegan, I expect to eat basic this at most Italian restaurants. But tonight I was pleasantly surprised on how accommodating the staff and restaurant was. My mother and father had called to see if they had options for me which they did but I gave them free reign with my meal and it was awesome. The pizza was delicious they even have vegan cheese and even offered to make a special Alfredo sauce for the pizza. The staff were unbelievably helpful and super positive. The staff even brought me a birthday dessert on the house tonight which was vegan a raspberry gelato with housemaid donuts… It was amazing. This is the kind of place that I will go to forever because they are just amazing there and the food was delicious. Thank you guys for doing such an amazing job and making my night awesome I will definitely be back.
What a wonderful experience! The food was a 10/10 and the ambience is exquisite! I loved the fresh pesto in my pasta. The Arancini was the best. Save room for dessert because these ppl serve the freshest brownies! The portions are not at all pretentious and I really felt like I got my money's worth ?
Great atmosphere but the food is just ok. Rustic Italian food should be full of flavour and simple ingredients but the food here was fairly bland and clearly lacked technical skill in preparation. The wait staff was a bit overwhelmed but tried their best on what was surely an unexpectedly nice and busy day to eat on the patio. The only waitress that was working when we arrived, Taylor, did a good job of trying to tend to all the tables but understandably had a hard time keeping up. She did her best though and was pleasant the entire time despite clearly having a lot to do. Service was solid all things considered and the atmosphere is nice for casual dining. Where the place is not up to snuff is on the food. We ordered a selection of items including arranchini, margherita pizza, fried ravioli, salads and drinks. Overall, the pizza was especially poor. It was dried out, burnt on the bottom with no dispensable leopard spotting, and poor rise. If I were to guess, the temperature of the oven is too low and they leave it in too long to compensate. The dough itself was flavourless and way too dense. The sauce was ok but lacked freshness and someone please tell the chef that if it has sliced tomatoes that way, it is NOT a margherita, it’s an American version of the margherita popularized in home cooking recipes. Moreover, if you do want to go that road (some people are a little less traditional or purest) then at least ensure the tomatoes are fresh and not overripe. The arranchini were also poorly seasoned (salt goes a long way), and the arrabiatta that accompanied them was far from fresh. The fried raviolis were also very dry and honestly stale. Again, the sauce that accompanied them was a poor choice, and powdered Parmesan has no place on a dish like that unless it’s as a condiment available at the table. Bottom line, the food could be great but it’s just not there at the moment. To the management, might be in your best interest to get an outside or alternative perspective …maybe someone with a bit more experience in traditional Italian.
Amazing place for a romantic date. If you're really trying to impress that Tinder date, take her there! Rustic, ambient, music isn't too loud so you can carry a conversation and they really play some good romantic classics. Pizzas were amazing but definitely go for the arancini. I genuinely had tears in my eyes. What a gem of a place.
Ordered from the family style menu. The meals were fantastic. Good portions, hot, well packaged. Fantastic options. The staff was accommodating to some of our changes and the despite the long list of add ons no mistakes were made. Don't suggest the calamari as a take out item. It does cool down faster and you miss out on the crispness. We all loved the aranchini and the spicy sauce-- a must try. This was our first time ordering and glad we did. We loved and will order again.
Love the setting, and the patio is lovely in the summer. However, the few times I've been there I've ordered a chicken dish. You think I would learn, but I definitely have now. I dont know if its the supplier, or the kitchen, but the amount of vains in every bite makes it unpleasant to eat. Will not be a place of choice for me.
Delicious all the way Great service. Great atmosphere in the busy Monday crowd!
