My Freind ordered a cake for my birthday, it was a customized cake and we spent around $125, but when we brought the cake home and found it was just a plane vanilla cake while we asked for a strawberry custard flavour, but what we found was a plain vanilla cake. We had worst customer service experience, I called at the store (the Kitchener location) told them and the lady answering the call was so rude and told to call head office because they are the one who makes the cakes as per the order. Called the head office, the lady listened me and than took my phone number and told she will be getting back to me once she looks into the matter. Surprisingly no one followed me back and I waited for almost a week. I called her and she is like, the whole money you spent was for the presentation of the cake you got and we are not charging you a lot for the flavour of the cake. I had 10 people at my place to celebrate the day we didn’t even touch it ruined our whole day and all our plans, we trusted them and at the end she is telling me all this. Even Sobeys could customize the same cake for me in $25, than why would I spend $125 for the strawberry shortcake I actually wanted. And at the end she told me to go the Kitchener location as they decided to refund me the difference for the flavour of vanilla cake and the strawberry shortcake which she told me would be around $10-15. Am I stupid? I will never be returning to this place and never recommend anyone for this. Thanks a lot team for the worst customer service experience

A decent chain bakery though there are many other better options in the Tri-Cities. I ordered a portuguese egg tart, an apple turnover, a swiss roll, an eclair and a chocolate croissant. The tart was good, though I prefer the ones from Euro Bakery or Azores. The swiss roll was bland and flavourless. The chocolate croissant was generous and tasty but lacked the desired flakiness. The stand out was the apple turnover that had wonderful lamination and crunch. The eclair had good shou and chocolate on top flavoured with I believe was orange zest but the filling was forgettable.

I was really excited to try the savoury finger food items from this Bakery so went here for Brunch. The savoury items that we tried this time - Chicken Balls; Cod Fish Rolls; Spinach Feta Lattice Danish & Cheese Croissant were very cold so didn’t taste as great as expected. The taste would have been so much better if they had heated up these items before serving. They staff was definitely running around a lot as they were very busy and did not offer to heat up our food. I’d definitely recommend to get a takeout and heat the savoury items at home to enjoy. I’ve tried their desserts before and they are pretty good.

The place is always bustling which is a good sign that the food is good. The food is good and the only complaint would be that it wasn't heated before being served.Coffee was good as well. They have a lot of options for bakery items and most are very good, would definitely recommend.

Very bad customer service, My friend recommended a “ good cake place” for a cake dessert. So I went in and ordered a cake so the employee who was serving me got me a wrong cake and told me that the cake had already been written on and I had to purchase it, So a shy or introvert person would just buy it and go but I was really mad and confused at the same time for them telling me to buy something I don’t want because the employee got the”wrong cake”. I mean what is this, You can’t tell anyone to buy something they don’t want to purchase because it was your employee’s fault. But after a long time of waiting they came gave me my cake with a bad attitude because I didn’t buy the one they told me to. So that was my worst experience in a cake place imagine going through that, It was horrible and I won’t ever go back there and don’t wish for anyone to go through what I went through.

Always excellent baked goods at Nova Era. No better natas to be found anywhere! Giant croissants too. Delish!

A bit pricey but the food taste was ok. The almond tart was hard as rock but the custard napkin was delicious. Employees were kind but kinda sucks they don’t have prices on the pastries so you’re not able to see the prices.

My daughter and son in law chose this wonderful cake for their wedding cake. It was so absolutely delicious! All of the guests commented on it in a most positive way. Thanks for making my family’s special day all that more amazing!!

I live just around the corner from this bakery. I am there a few times a week. The staff is A LOT better than what it used to be. The girls are very sweet and always smile and are appreciative. I have also had a guy who works there wait on me too. He was great. The woman who owns the place always scowls, never smiles, she literally is NEVER happy. I will tell her thank you when she waits on me and never says you're welcome or anything. If you're going to run a business that you want to keep bringing patrons back to, smile once a while!

They gave us the all messed up cake thinking we will not notice with the tiaras on the top. I know I’m posting a review almost like a month after because i didn’t get the chance on the day and after that.Worst experience
