Delicious schnitzel, good coffee. Nice ambiance.

Pub fare is not typically my first choice when I think to eat out, though I do enjoy it very much. Having said that, I visited Malt & Barley with some family who wanted to check the place out, as they had heard that the wings here were top rate.Indeed, the wings here are absolutely fantastic. I ordered the Dry Cajun flavour, which had a nice light crisp on the outside, with juicy meat on the inside. The spice had a very mild hint of heat to it and had great flavour, and not over-salted as can often be the case with dry rubs. I also tried the Chipotle Mustard, which also fared well. Both of my other family members agreed that the wings were great. We added an order of fries to share among us, which sadly, were not as inspiring. They weren't bad, but they did not seem like they were freshly made, as they were a touch on the soggy side as if they had been made 20 minutes earlier. At the time we dined, we were the only ones in the restaurant. The wait staff was prompt and attentive. Prices are what you'd expect with today's rising food costs, and there's plenty of free parking nearby. This place doesn't change the fact that pub fare still won't be my primary choice for eating out, but if I'm ever craving wings, this place definitely deserves consideration.
Standard pub fare, friendly staff and good portions. A bit too salty for my taste buds but an overall good place to hangout. Their lunch special are great value for money.
My husband and I ordered the 2-piece fish & chips (haddock) for our final dinner of 2021. Fish was good, French fries were tasty but on the cold side, coleslaw was bland, mushy peas a bit salty but good (tasted like split green pea soup). Was a big enough meal to split between us. We would order again but dine in so everything would be to temperature.
Typical laid back pub with an east coast flare. Service is great! Fantastic pub fare. The Seafood Platter is UNREAL. Fed 5 of us easily. Do not overlook this place! Its a must in Williamsburg.
We ordered the Lunch Box with the Halifax Classic Donair, Onion Rings, and a Caesar Salad. The lunch box is a great deal for the amount of food you get. The Classic Donair had plenty of shaved meat, chunks of tomato, onions, and a creamy sweet sauce all wrapped in a pita. The Onion Rings came with a delicious tangy malt sauce. The Caesar Salad had lots of bacon crumbles, large croutons, and a tasty house dressing. Each lunch box comes with an east coast slaw which was delicious and had a light dressing.⠀This is a great deal if you are looking to share a lunch as it filling and there is plenty options to mix and match.
Great place that eat live the live music great food friendly staff
