Very disappointed! I was looking for a good fish&chips restaurant and according to the reviews this looked good, but NO. We ordered in advance, but when arriving it took 20 more minutes to get it ready-made for us.The dish as well didn't smell and taste good either, but rancid and greasy. Not recommended
I purchased the haddock fish and chips. The fish was absolutely delicious but the fries were disappointing.I went on Good Friday at 4:30 pm and didnt get my food until almost 7:00. This place is small and they allow preorder but felt their operations of ordering can use improvement. I will definitely order there again but not sure I will on Good Friday or will do something completely different to ensure it doesnt take 2.5 hours to get my food
Usually we have great fish and chips at Fish Hut. Ordered the family Haddock meal and was very disappointed as the fish was extremely greasy. Grease was literally dripping from the box. Fish was not crispy like usual and fries were soft and mushy even though we asked for well done fries. We ordered this on a Saturday for 6:15pm pickup. Very disappointed. We refer The Fish Hut to all our friends and even on FB groups. Called to make a complaint but they were closed. Doubt we will be back as the previous dinner wasn’t great either.
The sign in the shop says it all. The best poutine in KW. Their fish is incredible but their poutine is unmatched.
Some of the best fish and chips anywhere in the 519 area code. Always so good and consistent and great prices. If this place ever closes I will mourn for weeks.
They no longer have tartar sauce, its home made big Mac sauce. Its really terribl.. and they won't give extra not even if you want to pay more,
Fish Hut is a nice local fish and chips place in Kitchener, Ontario. It is located in a plaza that has a lot of parking spots, and it is conveniently accessible. The team members seem a little less friendly and not in a good mood. Yet, the service is good, and prices are reasonable. It is fried food, so do not expect to have a healthy meal. However, every now and then, you can enjoy a meal at this place. I also like their sauces, the shrimp, and the haddock.
I had the cod and chips. Very good; crust was light and flaky. Cod was delicious, not oily. Lots of chips.
Fish was tasty, portions we're good. Ordered the Wednesday special for 2. Prices are good. The only problem was that the oil for the fryer was really old. It left a unmistakable taste which takes it to 3 stars.
My wife and I usually order 2 separate meals, but the portion of 1 meal here is enough to feed the both of us. We ordered the 2 pieces + chips combo. Fries are freshly cut and the fish is not too oily. There was a bit of a line up but they were very quick to serve within a reasonable amount of time. Great value.
