A hidden gem. Came across Ellison's Bistro today during the Blues Festival. Very attentive service. Authentic home cooking. Great flavours of home made spices. Oxtail meal was superb as was the Jerk Chicken. Highly recommend!
Absolutely delicious! Ordered the Jerk Chicken to go, and it was just what I was craving. Very friendly owners that make you feel welcome, and I will definitely be coming back. Love supporting local businesses that bring you into their family!
Food is absolutely amazing, and the portions are definitely worth the money, the owner is very kind, respectful and treats all of his customers with care and courtesy. Food is made fresh, and he serves the best curry goat and jerk chicken I’ve had, and the complimentary bun on the side completes the meal! If you’re craving a healthy delicious meal, this is 100% the place to be! 10/10!
The best caribbean food that I've experienced. The avocado stuffed veal was flavorful and filling. The pepper pot soup had a unique combination of delicious flavors, the best soup I've had in months.The owners were friendly and wholesome. They made me feel welcome and I learned about their history and experiences. The owner/chef is traditionally trained and fuses European techniques with caribbean classics.Do yourself a favor and eat here!
My partner and I went to Ellison’s for the very first time and we did not leave disappointed! The service we received was among the friendliest and most memorable dining experiences we’ve ever had. Not only were we greeted warmly by our server but the chef also came out to greet us. The food was incredibly tasty and packed with flavour!
A hidden downtown gem. This place has been around for 18 years specializing in upscale Caribbean cuisine. The restaurant is small but charming and the food is reasonably priced and very flavourful. I saw in previous reviews that the portions are small but I didn’t find that - I ordered 2 appetizers to split with my friend (pumpkin fritters and samosas) and the roti chicken entree and couldn’t finish it as it was so filling. Staff were incredibly attentive and polite. Such a great place. Highly recommend supporting this local spot!

Outstanding! I had Oxtail with rice and peas. Absolutely delicious; authentic Caribbean taste. Everyone in the group enjoyed their food, and I'm definitely going to try the fish next time! The chef popped out of the kitchen and made us feel at home. Highly recommend.
We visited Ellison's Bistro this past Wednesday and ordered the Rack Of Lamb Port Antonio & Me Mah Oxtail. The food was delicious, the presentation was very classy, and the intimate feeling of the restaurant created a great dining experience. We had conversations with the owner/chef and head waitress throughout our meal. I've been looking for some good Caribbean food in Kitchener and I'm glad I finally found Ellison's Bistro. I would highly recommended a visit to them and will be returning again soon.
