Went here late on a Sunday night for the first time and absolutely loved their food. We ordered a chicken tikka meal and a classic burger with spicy fries. Both the dishes were so good and felt like comfort food. The spicy fries were delicious and so crispy. The only thing missing in the restaurant is clean and proper seating. The booths were not cleaned and were unorganised. Would definitely come here again for their shawarma and fries but would grab the food as takeout instead!
Happy to leave a full review.Compared to other local competitors such as Highland Shawarma or Johnny Fresco, I found Ace Shawarma to be a lack luster alternative. The bun didn't taste very fresh and standard burger toppings were bland. The spicy fries were indeed spicy but lacked meaningful flavour.Perhaps others enjoy the taste, but personally I don't think I'll be back.
Truly love this place and me and my boyfriend spend an embarrassing amount of money here monthly, but it is getting more and more difficult to justify. When we were ordering in February of last year, the large shwarma poutine was $8.99, it is now $17.49 on door dash. I understand the need for price increases especially since times have been tough lately for businesses and product has been difficult to find, but this is a little disappointing. Food never disappoints but definitely difficult to justify when there is very good and cheaper options elsewhere.
I found my experience and the food at Ace S&B to be wonderful. We travelled to the city on a business trip and found this gem located downtown. The owner was one of the nicest I’ve had the pleasure of engaging with. He was amazing, a great conversationalist, and generous to throw in a desert for us. He guided our food selection and the shawarma plates turned out to be delicious. Thank you very much and hope to return soon for more.
Overall a very amazing place. I ordered the Shawarma poutine, and I can confidently say that it was one of the best shawarma poutines I have ever tried. It is on the pricier side, the large after tax was around $14, but I would still say that it is worth it for the amount of food that you get. Overall a really great place, and you should definitely give it a try.
I tried first and I was very hungry and the guy treated me very well and he suggested me to have poutine tikka deal of the day. It was amazing and I wad really got experience with them.
Their burgers are amazing, and used to be fairly priced. Because of the pandemic, I assume, their prices keep going up, and are not consistent with their menu prices. On top of this, it's super hard to place an order with them. They keep asking you if you want specific toppings, and you keep telling them "I only want xyz" then they ask you for more toppings, and you keep telling them "i only want xyz." When you pick up your food, big surprise! Their convoluted order system got them confused, and they put whatever toppings they want on your food. Used to be much better value.
Amazing place with fresh and tasty burgers , shawarma cheeseburger. Clean and friendly service. The entire family enjoyed it and would highly recommend it.
I love a good shawarma and I have never heard of Ace, so I decided to stop in today. What I ordered:Chicken Shawarma PlateGinger AleWhat I liked:Service ✅ restaurant was bustling with takeout orders and they still managed to get my order out on time. Staff was friendly and looked focused on getting out their orders. Daily specials are also a bonus.Presentation ✅ this was probably what I liked the most. The salad was in a separate compartment than the rest of the meal. It wasn’t overdressed either. Shawarma and rice wasn’t overly sauced either which I appreciate. Compared to similar restaurants they don’t load you up on rice but the serving seemed to be the perfect lunch amount.Flavours ✅ lots of flavour on the shawarma side. Salad dressing could have been better but overall decent. What could’ve been better?Menu ❌ simplified menu but aside from the chicken shawarma, nothing stood out to me. They have Kebab in their branding but offer (1) lamb option. Maybe get rid of that and do (2) things really well, shawarma and burgers. ??♂️Indoor Dining ❌ very limited indoor dining. Booth seating cushions have lost their support so if you are not very tall, you may have issues.Overall, I would return to Ace to try the burger and I suggest you try this restaurant if you are in the area!! ?
We had take out from Ace last night (Kitchener to Cambridge) and I was pleasantly impressed at how well the food was packaged to keep it hot and fresh! The onion rings were crispy and the cheese burgers were still warm and not greasy at all! Amazing work by your staff at Ace, kudos for making our Christmas eve party a wonderful success! Thank you ?
