Out for a few drinks with the wife, only about 7:30pm been to this spot countless times, and enjoyed it. But they had 1 bartender with a beard working the room, took 15 mins to get our first drink after we ordered then he walked by our empty drinks (counted 10 times) until I asked for a Caesar and a beer and he rudely scoffed at as, and said fine. We then cancelled the drink and asked for the bill. Worst service I have ever had in Kingston and I’ve lived here all my life. Will never come back here again. We understand waiting when it’s busy, but we don’t tolerate being talked to rudely when we our selves were nice and politely asked for another drink.
Had a great 2 visits to this pub . Got a history lesson of the pub and Kingston from Gary and Ryan . Great service and good food along with“ surprise us “ drink specials for my wife and I .Staff were all very friendly . We will be back next time we visit Kingston . Thanks Gerry .
Love the Tir nan Og Great food Great service
Thursday evening meeting up with a large group of work colleagues in a space large enough to accommodate. That's the best point, everything else fell short. I understand staffing shortage but to have two wait staff to deal with food and beverage orders for a lot of people only made the wait staff busy and stressed and delayed the timely delivery of product. The two ladies did a remarkable job given the circumstances. That's the second best point. The beer selection was limited to whatever big yellow cranks out at commercial scale. No local crafts on tap and the only craft like beer was the once independent Mill Street in a limited offering. The glass sizes were US pints, not proper Imperial 20oz. Though not advertised as "pints", one would hope that an Irish themed pub could offer one. The disappointment continued with their signature burger. At 17.00 CAD one would have expected a hand crafted patty made with select cuts, but alas this was a beef shingle prefab fresh from the freezer patty that was overcooked and overseasoned. This polished sham rock is the antithesis of any actual Irish pub and only a faint analog if one where 6 pints of stout into a bender stumbling in for another.
It was very hard to choose between great food, every bite was delicious. Very cozy atmosphere, friendly staff, quick service. Very clean washrooms and place. We had chat with a local mister, he was lovely.
My sisters and I went to Tir Nan Og for dinner and had some issues with our meal. We are from out of town but Gary Cork took the time to look into our complaint and made sure that we were satisfied with his apology. Thank you! Not many managers would take the time like he did. Lori L.
Fun atmosphere and great food!
Haven't been here in awhile but ordered quite a few times lately. Orders are always correct and the food is absolutely tremendous. The Blarney Burger is incredible and on my next trip downtown for a meal I will 100% be going to get that burger again. Please never remove it from the menu! :)
Love the warmth of the environment, and the staff have all proven to be great!
Have always liked the old speckled hen/Tir Nan Og but last night Ryan went above and beyond for us. We had scheduled our engagment photoshoot near city hall and when our photographer didn't show up we were devastated and cold and headed into the Tir to try and sort out what had gone wrong. The photographer didn't end up showing but Ryan and Frankie made everything a whole lot better with their amazing service even bring us a little bottle of bubbly and a treat to cheer us up. Can't thank you enough Ryan!
