We were welcomed upon arrival by who I think was a manager/owner who informed us that the restaurant would be closing early due to a cash only situation. We initially thought we would be turned away, instead we were graciously led in to a table. We all enjoyed a great meal at the buffet and service was fantastic. My son, who we just picked up from a year at RMC, commented it was a great way to end a hectic day. Thank you Mandarin!
We went for Mother's Day and it was fantastic! The staff were friendly and very professional. I hear people complain about the price - $27.99 pp, but we were there for an hour and a half and had a wide variety of items from appetizers to desserts, and specialty teas. Too many choices to ever list.We went out for breakfast 3 weeks ago and our bill was just under $50.00 for 2 people. No comparison. The one thing that was very upsetting was the number of people who left large amounts of food on their plates, yet still going up for more and more food. It's an "all you can eat buffet" people. Please take smaller portions and stop the waste.
My wife and I were visiting Kingston on the 2nd of May, 2022, and wanted to have our lunch at the Kingston Mandarin. I called the business the day before to make sure we could walk in, and did not need a reservation. And I was informed that that was indeed the case. Lunch time next day, and we enter Mandarin. The lady at the front tells me, "We do not have anymore dine-ins." And when I mentioned the conversation I had with one of her colleagues the previous day, she explained they had limited tables, and that those were all occupied -- which was totally understandable. "Approximately how long will we have to wait?" "An hour" [which struck me as rather strange] "We're going to run an errand in the meantime, how will we know whenever a table is available?" " Write your name and number on this piece of paper, and I will call you." I opened my mouth for my next question, when the phone rang. The lady excused herself, answered the phone, and kept on talking into it -- despite the fact that she was already in conversation with me when the phone rang. Good business conduct dictates that she should have had the person at the other end hold the line, while she finished her business with me. But no. That was not the case here. She kept taking on the phone for about 10 minutes (with us standing in front of her) before another kind gentleman came up to us and took us in immediately.
I was actually surprised of how the restaurant has improved. The staff is friendly, the food tastes better than when I first visited. The potions are alright for the price.
It was good but feel it was better before the pandemic. Used to cut a larger slice of Prime Rib then they did this time around. I realize price of everything has gone up so I'm sure it's effecting them too. To go again I'd go during the normal week as cheaper than the weekend.
Great service. Glad to have the Buffet open again. Very attentive staff. Very clean. Great selection of food. Great quality food from Carving Station to regular Chinese food items to large salad bar to large dessert table 14 different types of ice cream a number of seafood items on the buffet as well.
Always a lovely experience. Food is fresh and delicious. Staff courteous and friendly. Wish I could have eaten more!!
Ordered 80 dollars of food, it was not hot, lukewarm, the egg rolls were disgustingly soggy, took little and spit it out. Never order there again. Later that night, my family had gut problems.I picked it up, the owner handed it to me, I could see when he did give me the order, he knew I was a driver, the puzzled look on his face. I know the meal was going to be garbage.
We went for lunch there, and it was only take out at the moment, well we like to go out and dine in. They only have the small eats, not impressed with that at all.
Recommended a few drinks I should try and gave me 10/10 customer service
