This review covers mainly a terrible experience from customer relations point of view.Over a week ago, my wife and I ordered ramen noodles here which we love. We had 2 bowls, and it was as great as usual.More recently, tried to order ramen again. I was told “we are not serving hot food. No ramen until July 1st. I explained that this was strange as we just had ramen 1 week ago and in fact, I had just put the plastic bowls in my recycling. No one could provide an explanation.Ok, so we order sushi instead. Order several slick tuna rolls and asked for a few orders of tuna sushi. Everywhere I go for sushi, they understand the maki is a roll, sushi is fish on small amount of rice, and sashimi is fish alone. The person on the phone said yes and gave a price. When we got home, we found that they had given us tuna maki rolls rather than sushi. I called saying the order was wrong and that we ordered sushi not maki roll. She told me “we only have rolls or sashimi”. I said OK, then please give us some sashimi and deliver to us. She said, we’d have to pay for this ourselves.I then explained that typical customer service was to solve a problem in some way and not at the customers expense. Nothing like that was offered. That is when I explained that I’d be writing this review.Update:Kame’s response was very reasonable. I brought up my rating to 3 stars.Training is the issue. The chef that day didn’t say anything about the other chef being away and the hostess lacked training so not her fault.I had a problem w a sushi order in Florida, and they immediately offered to give my wife and I a free lunch. They said “pls give us a chance to show you our great sushi”. For $60 they got a customer for life and I gave them a 5 star review because of their response to a mistake. And by the way, the spicy Tonkatsu Ramen noodles get 4 stars as long as they are making it. They are great.
This wasn’t my first visit but first time doing take-out. I have enjoyed my food in previous visits when I’ve dined-in but unfortunately this meal fell flat. The dishes were very fishy, yes they are fish-based dishes, duh! But I eat sushi regularly and have an expected level of how fishy it will be, this meal definitely exceeded that. I have had their poke before and really enjoyed it and did not feel this way about it the last time. The udon noodles were also pretty lacklustre.
The services here are very slow. They told me to come back in 20 min for my take out order and then asked for another 10 min to prepare. The part timers here can’t even remember my order after I repeated it twice. The food is good. They just need to change their servers.
Ordered cucumber and veggie tempura rolls, along with two kitchen items for dinner. The kitchen items were decent, however it was clear that the rolls were made much earlier in the day and were not fresh. Was super disappointed and will not be ordering from there again.
Absolute garbage, the fish was from last month. Never go here... the ramen was made from convenience store packages. Avocado looked like it was found from the dumpster, shrimp tempura roll looked 4 weeks old. Spent $200, ate one piece of everything and tossed it.
Seems their hours on door dash change daily. Haven't been able to actually place an order in over a month as everytime I try the seem to have just closed. I've tried giving this place a chance from not having a menu available online before, them not answering the phone when they are open to place an order, them actually being closed when it says they are open online and now this. If you want their food I guess you can only go in when they feel like being open.
We had the assorted sashimi rice bowl (#47) and the miso ramen. There was a good assortment of sashimi in the rice bowl and it tasted fresh. Initially I was concerned the ramen would be soggy by the time we got the food home. I was pleasantly surprised by the excellent food packaging that kept the noodles separate from the soup until you’re ready to eat. Clearly this is a restaurant that takes pride in their food and cares about the customer experience.
We got take-out: 18 piece assorted and ramen spicy. Ramen broth was very good and the meat tender and flavourful. The noodles were gummy. Egg was hard-boiled. Sushi platter was good. Fish tasted fresh. Weren't a fan of the roll they gave us. It had crab and cucumber inside but had an unidentified brown topping with sauce on it. It was ok, but I wouldn't order it again. Willing to go again to try other things.
Amazing sushi and great service! I will definitely come back.
Great sushi including delicious vegetarian. The deluxe black dragon with bbq eel was awesome as well as the Philadelphia. Super fresh and although the price is high, I would pay it again. My only complaint is that they serve ginger and wasabi in packets. I don’t understand how a place with that quality of sushi can’t afford to provide a nicer ginger and wasabi. Also Would definitely love to see some additional flavourful vegetarian like a lightly fried vegetarian dynamite roll, some spicy mayo veggie rolls, the use of sundried tomatoes.
