It was my first time trying the food and drinks at this restaurant. My friend and I ordered the El diablo and ship wreck cocktails. As an app we ordered the deep fried dills and as our mains we ordered the gourmet burgers - The French Onion beef burger and The Greek, fried chicken burger with herb fries. Overall the food tasted good. The outdoor patio in the back is pleasant with a greenery of the vine plants as the main back drop as well.
We desired a relaxed Saturday lunch with a beer on a patio and decided why not find somewhere on Duke street. A small patio invited us to be seated at “The Ship”, and the server asked, seating inside, upstairs, or outside front or back. Enticed to see what the back patio was like we responded with the back, and found a quaint vine-wall wooden booths and tables with a semi covered outside seating. We were truly amazed how a small place from the outside, has so much seating (fyi they don’t take reservations as per the server).Lots of craft beer choices, and an expansive burger and fish menu. The burger menu, showed and option to change up your burger to chicken or veg burger. You truly can’t go wrong with ordering a good burger and catfish and fries. We opted for Cajun fries and wowee (tasty-salty goodness).Last but not least, the server we enjoyed immensely, she was lovely; she surely showed how much she enjoyed working there and seeing patrons after covid. Definitely going back for another menu item AND the Cajun fries ?
I came to The Ship for the very first time today, and now cannot say enough for this pub. The Ship is a proper boozer in the English style (not a Plastic Paddy): great punters, awesome food, and fresh pints from Ontario.

Oh W.O.W, there food was amazing. I went there with a friend thinking, okay this place look okay. Was I surprised, how much flavor there burger had. My friend had the fish and coleslaw, she just wanted more. Hand down one of the best places, I've eaten. 110% recommend this place for great food with Excellent service. :)
Your search for burgers is over because this place has the best burgers! The patty's are fresh, tender, flavorful, overall delicious. You have multiple options to choose from which will cater to any burger lover. The environment is super laid back. The patio is great and provides shade in certain sections. We had a blast.
Great local beers on tap and the menu has everything you’d want for a casual dinner. The fries were 10/10 perfect. Nice city back patio too.
From the minute we say down until we left everything was top notch. The service, food and drinks were amazing. Shoutout to the kitchen staff for the food because it was hot and delicious. Our server was amazing as well. Will always come back when in town.
Cool little place with decent selection of craft beers on tap. Food was amazing, you can’t go wrong with a burger. I will definitely be going back here when in Hamilton!!
Great burgers with crazy good topping combinations. Lake Erie perch with tasty fries. But they had to tell us they were out of coleslaw, the side with the perch, and no real apology or comp. it was a Sunday at noon. We'd rate the food 8.5 out of 10 and reasonably priced. Overall was a pleasant experience.?
