I have never been disappointed when ordering here. My order is always fresh, hot and ready on time.
SERIOUSLY GROSS - FOOD POISONINGMy wife and I wanted to try a different Chinese place than our usual to we decided to give Shanghai a try. We ordered sweet & sour chicken balls, jar doo chicken wings, spring rolls, and Singapore noodles.At first everything seemed fine. Food was hot when it arrived an hour later but the timing was no big deal.Everything LOOKED fine. But when we tried the chicken balls it had almost a compost type taste. Like the ingredients they used were old and rotten. The spring rolls had the exact IDENTICAL taste. Compost. That’s the only way we can describe it. The Singapore noodles were hot but the shrimp was cold as if they were just pulled out of the fridge and thrown into the noodles. Super gross. The wings were fine.All in all, don’t try this place. I had to stay home from work today because I’m feeling ill.
We have ordered from Shanghai MANY times and have always enjoyed it. Until tonight. I cut into what was supposed to be a sweet and sour chicken ball in my combo FF. I cut into a dough covered white ball of powder. It was literal powder.
Horrible. Placed a large order through Skip, and everything had to be thrown in the garbage. Food was 100% cooked with spoiled ingredients. I literally had to excuse myself so I could spit food into the toilet. The city of Hamilton really needs to take a look at this place. No restaurant in this day and age should be sending a customer food like this. Unbelievable.
Food is not good at all!! General tao's has no taste, don't order garlic chicken wings its not even crispy wings it has sauce, it says in their menu crispy fried wings there is no option to choose dry or with sauce and taste disgusting. Noodles is so dry! Basically the food has no taste.
I had pretty high expectations because the skip score was so high (9) and the egg roll I ate first was good, and I figured because my food took literally 2 hours to come, it would be at least yummy and well cooked . OH MY GOD how could I have been so wrong??? THIS FOOD IS DISGUSTING. Like, disgusting. This was hands down the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten. The food came completely cold and the meat looked and tasted very strange with a gross and slimey(beef) or extremely dry texture(chicken). The vegetables were sparse and what was there was barely cooked. The BBQ fried rice OMG YUCK!!! This was the worst, I couldn't even eat it because of how disgusting it smelled, the smell being reminiscent of a cross between a dirty diaper and a week old forgotten bag of garbage in the garage. My entire dinner this evening has been an egg roll, the rest of this food will be thrown away promptly. My family is starving after having waited for 2 hours to only receive a completely inedible dinner. After finally reading some of these reviews, I realize I may not even get my $70 back for this order. DO NOT ORDER HERE. I STRONGLY RECOMMEND YOU JUST ORDER A CHEAP PIZZA OR MAKE A GRILLED CHEESE AT HOME BECAUSE YOU WILL BE FAR LESS DISAPPOINTED.
Tonight was our first experience with Shanghai. It definitely won't be our last. Considering how busy they were the food was excellent especially the lemon chicken
Have been ordering from here for over 15 years. While there are disappointments sometimes (bland, items missing, etc), overall, we enjoy the food and continue to order from them. We recently tried the sesame chicken and it is our new favourite. Prices are reasonable and there is always plenty of leftovers.

Loved the food alot, tasted really good. I got the dinner for two B.Was a great size for two and left overs.Friendly and helpful plus fast service, only had to wait roughly 10 mins.Overall I'll be back to enjoy the food again.
