Just look at these happy faces. My wife suggested we hit up Rony's on the way from Burlington to Niagara on the lake and I had no idea that we were going to eat the best food of the weekend en route.First, please note that this place gets 5 stars because of both the service and the food.We ordered a chicken platter w both salads and split it with a side order of fries. Since it was our first time, we chose medium heat. I can't tell you just how tender that chicken was, but clearly they know exactly what they're doing in the kitchen because it was amazing. It was so tender and flavorful, and coupled incredibly well with the salad. We were so impressed that I had to go and talk and say thanks to the kitchen team, and that's when the owner came over to greet us. He was incredibly kind and friendly, and his only moment of displeasure was when he heard that we were leaving without trying the frozen yogurt that they make in house. He sent us on our way with two free samples of what my wife described as "the best frozen yogurt she has ever had." (They had two flavors, mango, and passion fruit. I'd give a slight edge to the passion fruit but they were both very very good.)We'll definitely be back.
Pure deliciousness! Chicken that is spicy but not at all salty and extra juicy. Amazing! Nice sides too, the slaw and hummus are tasty. Definitely will be back for more!
review date: june 2 and 6, 2022customer service dates: june 2 and 6, 2022june 3, 2022: rony's restauarant (RR) is a charcoal chicken middle east restaurant located at the southeast corner of barton and grays rd in stoney creek.i saw this place a few weeks ago by happenstance, so i put it on my radar.from my research RR has been in motion for at least 5 years.restaurant inside is modern, hip, clean and spacious relative to its size. open concept so you can see your order being built.staff were very polite and friendly, and working very hard to get the customer orders out the door. i was there after 5pm, so it was getting quite busy with people coming in. rony himself was live on location, rolling up his sleeves and helping the staff.i ended up ordering:1 chicken wrap1 rony's special1 chicken platterchicken wrap: their signature menu item. it looks small at first, but is jam packed with mainly chicken. the wrap is well constructed, i ate it in my car in the parking lot, and no dripping or spilled food. it comes to $12.03 all-in.a bit pricey but you can't argue with the quality. you do get quite a bit of food with this item, as it is predominantly chicken content. pita bread was excellent; clean and not greasy.i have never seen or tasted a chicken wrap like this, you really need to see and taste it to believe it.?rony's special: $13.58 all-in. (meaning after tax) portion was not the best size. quality again was excellent, it is rice combined with chicken, sauce and potatoes. i would order this again, to pair with a wrap.chicken platter: $13.24 all-in. chicken, rice, sauces and 2 cold sides; i took potatoes and coleslaw. portion size was small again relative to price. quality of all ingredients was excellent. i would prob pass on this item next time because of portion size.other comments:-rony advises to phone in advance (3 reasons):1- if you know what you want. this place can get extremely busy, so if you don't want to wait 15-30 minutes, make that quick phone call.2- be advised they may run out of items before closing time.3- make sure they are open.-ingredients such as the chicken and yogurt sauces take a lot of time behind the scenes to make, so that explains for a bit higher price.-food quality is excellent, however i found portion size to be smaller than expected relative to price charged.one star knocked off for the combined observations:-no evening hours.-no weekend hours (due to covid at the time of review.)-occasionally may close early on fridays.-website really needs to be updated. disorganized information throughout several sections, and the menu on the website is not symmetrical with the menu offerings in the store.june 6, 2022: rony's runs a 3 for 1 deal on mondays. buy 3 items off the wrap and plate menu section, and get your 4th item free. you can mix and match, if you wish.i grabbed 4 chicken wraps came out to $36.10 all-in. regular price would be $48.13 all-in. it's an excellent deal, for an excellent chicken shawarma.bottom line: i would return to rony's to try other menu items and would continue with the rony's special and the chicken wrap.i would recommend rony's to others also.?
I tried, I really did. The first time I went, I ordered a chicken plate with rice, salad and potatoes. The chicken was alright, I wasn't blown away by the flavour it just tasted like chicken cooked over charcoal. The rice was undercooked, it was a hard bite and the salad was a Fortinos kale and cranberry salad. Literally. The yogurt hot sauce wasn't hot and was lacking in flavour. Same with the potatoes, which were extra money for some reason even though you only get like 3. They were also undercooked. The second time I went it was the Friday of the long weekend. I walk in at 1230 and I'm told they have no chicken and they are closed at 2. No sign or notice or anything, Google says open til 7. So, I tried and I even went back to give them a second chance. No dice. For the price, it's simply not worth it. I don't get the hype, it kinda sucked.
Ordered a chicken kabob wrap and chicken kabob platter. Blown away by the flavor of the chicken and the portion of protein they serve specially in the wrap. Bookmarked!!
This place was delicious. I got the falafel plate and those falafels are amazing. So crunchy and yummy! The rice, salad, and hummus was delicious too. I'm thankful the employee warned that the spicy sauce is quite spicy because it is. Delicious but spicy. Medium sauce is perfect. My friends got chicken wraps and loved them. Rated 8 and 8.5 out of 10. They said the amount of chicken in the wrap was well worth the money. We will definitely be back! Very friendly service as well from the lady with the glasses and led zeppelin shirt!
Rony’s chicken is fantastic. They do it better than anyone. The rice is great too and so is the yogurt sauce. They make almost everything in house. The fries with benefits is so good. Great local owner too that’s done great things for the community. I highly recommend.
Best charcoal chicken in the Hamilton area - no doubt about it.Rony's refuses to compromise on quality & it shows! We've never had a bad meal from here. It's a super busy local fav. so be wise & order ahead!
Rony's makes delicious food. Their charcoal grilled chicken is so flavourful and juicy, and their house made yogurt sauce is fabulous on it. I'm partial to the Rony's Special, but recommend getting the 2.0 version, which adds fries into the rice and chicken mix. Speaking of fries -- I highly recommend getting a full order of fries on the side, because they are excellent. To top it all off, Rony himself is a generous soul and deserves all our support. Pro-tip: order ahead online to guarantee minimal wait.
Truly some of the best food I've ever eaten. The portions are huge, their service is amazing and the food is always bang on.One of my favourite places.(The yogurt hot sauce is also an amazing thing to keep in the fridge)
