We started getting take out from Pub Fiction during the lockdown, the food is always pretty good. Tonight we got three fish and chip dinners for takeout. When we picked it up we were informed that the ‘gratuity’ was already included… Gratuity for what, taking my money and handing me a bag? Covid was tough on restaurants and servers, it was always tough on people who try to support local eateries. Sorry, not going back.
Bartender Meg was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! Food was delicious; service was GREAT and WE will definitely be back for more!

This place was amazing. Another restaurant neat by lost our reservation for 15 for my birthday and these guys took us... even though they were short staffed. The waitress and other staff members were super polite and courteous. Will be going back more often.Only issue was food took a while but angina understandably so as they were shirt staffed and took us on less then 5 min notice.
We went on Saturday afternoon to enjoy a live music. The service is amazing. The food was delightful, we ordered a Vienna Schnitzel with salad (originally vegetables).Everything was perfect!!!
On Friday March 12th and 2 yrs to the day a world wide pandemic had been declared; it was time to get together with friends and family. I couldn't recommend a better place to do it then the combination of Pub Fiction and the band known as Freedom Train. Great food, great music and 5star sevice. Consider me a regular and a big fan. Congrats on hanging in there, i really appreciate your efforts.
My husband and I come here on multiple occasions together and we will be lifelong customers. The food is some of the best I’ve ever had (my favourite is the prime rib Sammy). They also have a pizza oven and you can watch the pizzas be made right in front of you! Very unique setup. Makes for a super fun evening. Great service as well. Very pleasant staff.
My 4 friends went here to support a restaurant who didn’t believe in the vaccine mandate so they didn’t ask for it when we arrived. 3 of us got the fish and chips, 1 got the vegetarian burger and my other friend got the cauliflower wings. The French fries were tepid, the fish was so over cooked that the deep fried batter on the fish was inedible. The veggie burger was burnt on the outside and undercooked on the inside. My one friend sent his fish back and they sent a replacement properly cooked. My other friend complained twice about his veggie burger and the fries. The waitress completely ignored his concerns. Adding insult to injury, a pint of Stella was 10.75. Yes, 10.75!Avoid this place. Poor quality food, terrible service and ridiculously expensive prices.
25 min waiting to order food. 40 min waiting to get food. Fries decent quality but were tepid. $10.75 for a Stella: Oakville Lakeshore prices for a place in a strip mall. Burger was tepid and burnt in some places. Not really edible. Harvey's burger for $6 is way better than the one I paid $18.50 for. Fish nearly incinerated. Not edible. Dipping sauce for sandwich cold. Told waitress twice about quality of food. Was completely ignored. Waitress dishonest. Said food came out right out of the kitchen after it was cooked. Not true, it was tepid and sitting somewhere for at least 10 minutes or more.
