Arrived past 8:30pm on a Tuesday, after inter-city cycling. We received great attention and a couple of healthy, tasty, fresh food, plus choice of fried potatoes. You can choose rice or supreme veggies. We did takeout because they would be closing soon and sat outside by their picnic tables enjoying the warmth of the night ?. The food was unpretentcious looking, and so is the place. We had the Planted and the Falafel bowls respectively and I must say, we were both pleased. My bowl had yummy sweet potatoes and my wife's falafel was great, a little spicy as too. There is always a magic that accompanies people willing to look after you late, accommodate you and even offer you to seat and a visit to their washroom, of needed. None of that structured non-sense some places have. Inside there is plenty to seat and they have some nice paintings and lots of opened space.I recommend you try this place in the casual. Enjoy! ?/??
Omg this place is amazing!!! Completely vegan and gluten free, this place does it all: brunch, lunch, desserts! It’s dangerous that it’s only a twenty minute walk from home.I had the ceaser burger with side ceaser salad and shared the fry plate. So good, so much food - had to share the burger, pack up half the fries and take the Nanaimo bar to go.Definitely go. I’m already daydreaming about my next visit and what amazing food I’m gluing to try next!
Love the place! Artistic, cozy, aestheticLove everything we tried, fresh and healthy and service is amazingGood place for vegan, vegetarian, gluten free
Great spot! As a vegan, I really enjoyed this spot and loved that you can just order from your phone without having to wait for a server or look at physical menus. I like physical menus too, but this was efficient! We ordered 30 minutes before closing, but they were very nice and said the kitchen is open up until closing and we can stay back until 930 (30 minutes after closing) if we need to. We didn't need to do that, but it was nice to have some independence in the restaurant and access to take out boxes nearby if we wanted to head out. They also had great food options! Not my favorite vegan cheese recipe, but I loved the thai bowl and the nachos were great! Went with my non vegan brother and his vegetarian girl friend who both also enjoyed the experience. :)
Love the new location on Locke street! The food is great! The nachos were delicious! The Thai bowls were great and our friends enjoyed the falafel. We ate outside because we had a dog and service was good! Will return again!
I have ordered from Planted In Hamilton several times. The vegan donuts are AMAZING!! The strawberry ones are my personal fav. although every flavor that I’ve tried is delicious. The customer and delivery service is phenomenal. Very kind and accommodating. Whether you ate vegan or not, Drop in for a treat or have them delivered.
I went for the first time yesterday. I have celiac disease and heard they have great options. I heard right! I don’t even have pics to share the treats I chose were delicious! I had the chocolate chip cookie, milkshake, and an Apple fritter to go. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and awesome! Highly recommend and can’t wait to go back!
I really want to love Planted, and I used to love it. But my past few experiences have not been great. I ordered takeout and it was inedible with rotten produce. I contacted Planted to let them know, and while they seemed apologetic there was no compensation offered. In the past 2 weeks I have eaten there twice, and the food has been underwhelming. My most recent visit the food took 50min to be served after I had to prompt the staff that we hadn't received it. Some of the food was overcooked, soggy, just meh. We were compensated for their mistake which I appreciated. But overall I'm left wondering if these experiences point to the fact that the quality of food and service has diminished. I'm not sure if I'll give Planted more chances to get it right.
I live in Toronto. My email to family and friends across the country (sent today) says it all. The email is as follows: I decided to come to Hamilton for the day. Remember the place with the poor service? I went to the new location of the place that they opened; they closed the previous one. Two ways to order: scan a Q code at the table, then order online even though you are at a sit down restaurant. Or go to the counter and order. I went to the counter. Started to order. The guy said, "I have to finish ringing something in from the previous person." I waited. Then he said, "I have to make a drink for someone. Sorry." I went back to the table, got my napsack and left.
Coming in with severe dietary restrictions, we hoped they would be a safe choice with options and they definitely delivered. Our server was incredible, and took the time to sit down with us to explain our options and to check when they were unsure. The food came quickly, was hot and delicious. We aren't vegan but we're open to new culinary experiences and if you're in the area they are ABSOLUTELY worth checking out. The only critique I can really offer is that the building is less accessible than it could be, but that's not a limitation that they as a business can impact; that's on their landlord. They do compensate with outdoor tables at road level and they deliver and do take out.Their ordering system is really neat, allowing us to order online from our table or at the counter. It was a fun experience and we would definitely come back next time we're in Hamilton.
