There the best restaurant ever love the food
This restaurant is a gem! Attended for lunch (half chicken dinner), and asked for cod cakes to takeout as I heard they were delicious). Great service, and even better quality food. Meter parking along Barton or on side streets (1-2 hours). Almost directly across from General Hospital.Beer/wine available, casual indoor dining.Will be back to try other traditional menu items.
This is a tiny hole-in-the-wall restaurant with decades of experience. Family-owned and run this is quality delicious well priced food at its finest. No matter what you order expect excellence. It's always delicious and I have been coming here since I was 10 years old. Now in my 30s and it has never dissapointed me. Best for taking out as it is small inside so best to call ahead for dine-in to make sure there is room. I have tried other Portuguese places but nothing compares to this. I rate #1 in Hamilton.
OOOOBRIGADA!!!! ??.What a satisfying, authentic and very heart warming Portuguese meal!.I was always told to try @ocantinhochurrasqueiracafeby many people in Hamilton. The recommendation was always followed by comments about the quality of their food, the taste of the chicken and how the food was so authentic"Hands down the best Portuguese food in Hamilton!"- they would say.Now, coming from a Portuguese backround and growing up in Toronto (Little Portugal) I always found it hard to come across places that reminded me of home..I must admit, I came close-but found inconsistencies in the quality. To the point I would just stop ordering..? UNTIL NOW! ?.I can confidently confirm that after tonights meal, O Cantinho is by far my favourite Portuguese restaurant in Hamilton! It just spoke to me and my heart fell in love. Meu Deus! Even their Salad dressing-psssst are you sure my Avo isn't in the kitchen!?I cannot explain how much I look forward too trying out more items on their menu! Also, the customer service (delivered with Class)-Such a gentleman. They couldn't make a Bifana (they were closing soon) but they did offer to make a beautiful chicken sandwich ❤ and was it ever amazing!!! FOR REAL CANNOT WAIT! Their food really hit home and brought back memories..Obrigada (Thank You) once again and we will see you soon!.
This review is a little late since my order was from Christmas Eve. I just wanted to say that I was thoroughly disappointed with the filets and rice that I ordered. I also ordered chicken and potatoes which were good. Unfortunately I had to threw out the fish since it was not editable seemed like the oil was not changed and it was over cooked. We ordered it a few weeks before só thinking that when my son got there it would be ready but no he had to wait a while. The rice also had no flavour so that went into the garbage as well. thank God we had other food or I would have been embarrassed. Not sure if I would order from here ever again. I have never completed a google review but thought I had to this time.
The chicken is unreal! Absolutely delicious. Ordered a few for Christmas dinner and will be ordering from Cantinho every Christmas now!
We order once a week or every other week. The chicken and ribs are phenomenal. This restaurant ain’t amateur! They are the real deal; Portugal style home made cooking, a family who is hard working just like mine and who understood that the secret key to a successful business is to put love and consistency!Churrasqueira & café, congratulation on the devotion! Wishing many more years of success.I’d like to see on the menu ➡️ some good romaine salad topped with raw veggies to accompany my future orders.
Excellent food. This small place has one of the best chicken and beef that I’ve ever tried. It also proved me that you don’t have to go a fancy restaurant to get an amazing experience.
This place is not worth the time. The food is really bland. they took my order and then lost it and then ignored it and made half of it that my husband picked up. there were frozen veggies in the rice... the Tarts were burnt and soggy. the chicken was dry and the potatoes had zero flavour. If you want good Churrasqueira go to Brasas in Mississauga. None of the employees had masks on either. We just moved to the Hamilton area and were really disappointed this wasn't a great spot.
A traditional Portuguese restaurant with an exceptional menu. I had the half chicken with rice and salad, it was amazing and the piri piri sauce drizzled over the rice, say no more.Finished my meal off with a caramel flan, it too was exceptional. Check this place out.
