This place has been my favourite for years. Got a chicken & rice combo & it was amazing. So big I just finished the leftovers for lunch today. The veggies are so fresh in the salad (& plentiful & cut in a good size). The meat is tender & soo flavourful, nicely spiced. The seasoned onions here are my favourite. Can’t forget the fresh & perfectly chewy pita, the texture compliments everything so well. I like to mix the salad with my chicken & rice & use the pita to scoop up bites ? 10/10
This place really stepped their game up. They make some of the most hearty salads in the city. Their white sauce is filled with flavour and deliciousness lol. Their chicken (I like cooked a little longer) with some white and hot sauce, is just literally making ym mouth water as I type this.Their staff is all super polite, helpful and really good at what they do. I wish I knew their names, to be able to give them a shout out, but I will generalize and say all of the staff here are amazing! They have patience, they have know how and they all have beautiful smiles!
review date: january 24, 20222nd review date: march 27, 2022customer purchase date: january 24, 2022, march 27, 2022neighbour shawarma (NS) caught my attention by happenstance, when i was looking at a google review of another shawarma place. ?upon looking the reviews, i decided to make a move during a snowstorm.NS is located on upper ottawa b/w mohawk and limeridge. their menu is straightforward - meat offerings are chicken and gyros with rice or on a pita. no beef options. a few salads and a bit of canadian food.upon arrival, the store was clean and bright, nice presentation of LED tv's for the menu, and the 2 staff workers on hand were warm and welcoming. the store became busy after i arrived, yet the workers did a good job of keeping it moving, getting orders punched in and filled out.i picked up a large chicken and rice, and a chicken shawarma pita. all-in was $27.95. do understand that NS has different sized servings for many of their items, to appeal to different needs and budgets.the prices that NS charges are very commensurate with the portion servings, they do give you a lot of food relative to what you are paying. imo the best bang-for-the-buck item is the chicken shawarma pita.the large chicken/rice:-had a bit of a greasy aftertaste but i would buy it again.-chicken provided was a good portion relative to the rice portion.-large size gets you a huge amount; the food is jam-packed in the container. this can easily be split into 2 servings and each split serve would leave you full, if not satisfied.-be advised that toppings (vegetables) are extra charge of 95c.-comes with a large naan bread to ensure there is no doubt you won't be starving after finishing this rice dinner.-rice was fresh and of proper texture.the chicken pita:-was very good. the vegetables tasted as if they just came from the garden. very fresh, and full of flavor.-good amount of chicken provided.-the garlic sauce is fine, not the best but not the worst either.-the seasoned onions and red sauce were excellent.-beautiful naan bread that the store bakes daily.-pita sandwich can get a bit sloppy when eating, so i would advise, not to eat it in a car.every day, NS has a special where they knock off a bit of $$ of the price of the selected item.march 27, 2022: NS continues to do all the wonderful things described from the 1st review. friendly staff, efficient with getting orders taken care of. these folks are not shy with piling on paid additional toppings for chicken and rice meal, which was much better than the 1st visit.the chicken wrap is a fantastic value relative to what you pay and get, and compared to what is available in the market. dialy, fresh baked nann bread, fresh vegetables and good quality chicken...overall, it was a good business decision for me to have come up the mountain to visit NS. ?bottom line: the store is out of my way as i live downtown. however on occasion, i would return to NS to purchase their food again. i would recommend NS to others also. the sheer amount of positive reviews are well-earned. they do chicken right. ?
Excellent generous quantity of chicken ordered large chicken shawarma salad and was not disappointed with the sauce size and chicken quantity. They did miss the seasoned onions so one star less for missing their own order std instructions.I usually love their chicken rice items with the seasoned onions. Great !
Picked up my order and it was ice cold. Thought it was going to be warm inside but when I opened it, ice cold. Took a bite and it's awful. Tastes like nothing. Never again. Supposed to be chicken, has no flavour and is grey. Horrible. What a waste of money.
We moved to Mount Hope 6 months ago and we have ordered the chicken shawarma and chicken salad from here almost every Friday, we can’t get enough of it! Portions are huge and value is excellent, not to mention the tasty food. Happy we found this place.
Huge portions!! HUGE PORTIONS!! Great service by the ladies working here! Food was tasty, we got the gyro plate, gyro wrap, shawarma plate and a chicken with fries.
I come here nearly every day for lunch, as it’s right near my school, and the Shawarma wrap is honestly next level. With all the toppings, and hot sauce with white sauce is only 10.64$ ! And for the size of it, and the deliciousness of it, it is worth it. This is my 4th time getting it, and honestly it never disappoints me.Their Poutine and Rice and Gyro are all delicious, and I’d definitely recommend trying them all, and their portion sizes are just next level, that you’ll always have enough for later.
This is my go to. It's great flavour, great service. Highly recommend it. I have been going there since it opened. Same owner from day one and he is also a great person. Shawarma wrap and rice or shawarma poutine is my favourite.
This place use to so good use to order on uber or skip until they got money hungry and charging unrealistic prices
