Very surprised!Great food. One of the best diners in the hammer. I would not have expected to get such a high level of quality from the food in a diner. I was even further shocked that the prices are so reasonable. I had the eggs Benedict, it came perfectly poached medium on a crispy yet still chewy English muffin with a perfect hollandaise to boot. Now I want to try everything on the menue. Breakfast is amazing. Coffee is over shadowed by the great food and stellar service. I have never finished off the home fries at a breakfast place until now crispy crunchy and a bit zesty. Great work guys . See you soon for breakfast. Going for chicken and waffles next.
My goal today was to try somewhere new for breakfast. Saw John Street Diner on Google and listened to some good reviews about breakfast! The staff greeted us as soon as we walked in and were very friendly and attentive throughout! I was surprised to see a periogi breakfast on the menu and knew I needed to try it! Everything was delicious and super decent prices! Will be back for sure!
Wonderful "hole in the wall" classic diner on John Street. Seriously good, pretty cheap food. Satisfies that breakfast urge. The reuben and home fries were crispy, salty, and filling. Also have hot sauce available, not just ketchup. The green smoothie tastes better than it looks - started out like broccoli, but ended sweeter like the peach puree. Felt like a healthy choice to get some veg! My dining companion had to get the smoked salmon benny and it was everything she was hoping for.
Fantastic food , excellent service portions were huge ! Tiny hidden hole in the wall, but reasonably priced and friendly staff make it a must try !
Our server this morning was super friendly and attentive. The food was delicious, priced fairly and served up hot. The washrooms could use some updating.
This is one of my regular weekend breakfast spots. The food, ranging from omelettes to french toast to eggs benny to so much more, is delicious, and also well-priced. The service is great (i.e. staff is friendly, food arrives on time, et cetera). I'm pretty much always guaranteed a good meal, and a sunny start to my day
You probably won't get a better breakfast for the price anywhere. A hidden gem with a very pleasant owner. Sometimes you get a good portion but the quality is poor. Other times you get good food but it's pricey and there's not enough to satisfy you. Rarely do you get quality with quantity. You do here.

Came here for a quick lunch a few weeks ago because one of my co-worker really likes this place. However, the time we went ended up upsetting us.The manager kept pushing our ticket back because we had another server. Our server checked on our order multiple times and kept the coffee coming and kept apologizing to us, but her manager had delayed our ticket again and again. Almost AN HOUR later we got our food and the manager was unhappy that we were kind of upset about the delay.The food was fine, good prices and portions but what truly upset us that day is the manager then yelled at our server in front of everyone who was there and drove her to near tears in public. If you decide to go to this place and see a nice server with long brunette hair and a warm smile, please tip her well because she is a saint for putting up with a boss like that.I would return... If I know I can get my food on time.
