Wow, what a selection. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. You can tell how proud everyone is to help. It was so hard to decide what to buy, but a came home with an amazing variety. The Sandy deli Megg salad is so good and I could not get enough of the cc cookies. Thank you Coven xo
Coven is such a convenient place to shop if you are vegan or on a plant base lifestyle. They have all of the "difficult to find" products on your local grocery store, in one place. Bonus, for that day you don't feel like cooking, they also have prepared meals (frozen or form their kitchen). Yes, products do cost more at Coven, however it is worth for its convenience.
I'll be frank: I'm not vegan. I was vegetarian for ten years for ethical and environmental reasons, but I won't deny I enjoy nonvegan food. I'm very interested living more conscientiously however, and Coven provides the perfect jumping off point for that. Accessible and friendly staff, quick service at the deli counter, delicious treats, and aisles of all the creative meat substitutes and grocery items you couldn't even dream existed. Vegan salmon sashimi they swear tastes just like the real thing. Vegan eggs and mayo that honestly taste even better. I tried the ham Sandy at the recommendation of one of the staff and it was INCREDIBLE. Picked up that, a macaroni salad, and a cookie all for the same price as any of the other hip grocery/deli/lunch places. Delicious, affordable, and it feels good for the environment?! Double win. Will definitely come back!
We came here for the first time in February 2022. We were very surprised at an entire Vegan grocer and jumped at the opportunity to visit it.When you hear about all the products they have, you'd expect this place to be much much bigger inside, but they pack it very nice. There are so many different vegan cheeses, boxed vegan foods, frozen vegan foods and delicious treats.We grabbed one of the Apiecalypse Pizza's, some Dill pierogi's, dandy marshmallows, tzatziki and a few other delicious finds.The prices are decent, the inventory was great and the service was friendly. Any vegan passing by here needs to stop in.5/5.
Popped in for the first time finally this weekend, and I am so impressed! Firstly the staff are so friendly and welcoming, instantly making you feel a part of the community. Despite the space being a bit smaller the selection is fantastic. They carry a lot of options from Yamchops, which is amazing considering how inaccessible their food had been to me when I was actually living in Toronto. Now I can get all of my favourite vegan foods in one place.Didn't get to take advantage of the fresh bakery or deli, but I know that will change in the very near future!
Informative and helpful staff. I love that there is a hopping experience in town where I do not have to check ingredient labels for each item, wondering if it’s vegan or not. They have great variety and all the staple brands!

Really impressive vegan grocer - mind blowing variety of vegan cheeses, almost a whole fridge dedicated to seasonal silk creamers, great selection of baked goods and hot to-go foods made in house. So many awesome snacks and huge selection of vegan meat substitutes - everything from ham, burgers to sea food. Exceptional selection of vegan and gluten free grocery items (so many vegan cheezes!) - many I haven't seen before, even at the well supplied vegan grocer I shop at in Toronto.The staff were friendly and knowledgeable, and there was a welcoming neighborhood atmosphere. Definitely worth visiting if you live in Hamilton, and worth the trip if you don't!
