The service was absolutely atrocious. I waited for over 30 minutes for my drink very patiently and when I asked about my drink due to the long wait time I was belittled and told that I was lying about the wait time. The server was extremely aggressive and rude when I was just inquiring about my drink as it was extremely long wait time for a beverage. He then proceeded to provide me a closed liquor bottle that required a bottle opener and did not open my drink for me which is against the law fyi. Anyways great music and vibe but the service ruined everything and I’ll never go back. If you decide to go there don’t receive your service from the tall thin white man with tattoos on his arms. He’s very rude and aggressive.
What a cool place with an amazing selection of drinks! We were there on Canada day so there wasn't a lot of other people and the first bartender we had was awesome - he suggested us options, chatted with us and made awesome cocktails. However, since it wasn't busy, 2 of the staff members have left (including the nice bartender) and there was one other female bartender who seemed so ambivalent to everything around her, it looked like she was high or drunk herself (maybe a bad day). We did not want to order another drink with her as she made us feel very unwelcomed so we promptly left. Hopefully next time we're there, she is having a better time!
Cool atmosphere, was there with some friends. Sure it’s small, but other than that everything was nice. It has really interesting name choices for the cocktails, would recommend.
The drinks were great, Bartender knows his stuff, though my glass was pretty dirty.I'd have given this place a 4 or 5 and entertained the idea of visiting again but unfortunately the Bartender's demeanour and attitude were really dismissive and off-putting. It made my wife and I both feel uncomfortable and awkward. We even tried to make conversation and be kind and cheery, tell a little about ourselves and even gave a compliment but the negative tone persisted. He also treated a new member of his staff and another guest kind of rudely, by either interrupting or being slightly condescending in the way he spoke. It was just a strange experience overall. Which is sad because when you're in a super intimate, tiny cocktail bar with no other stimulation, you would hope for it to feel warm and inviting. This was not that.I wasn't going to write a review, but then I looked through the others and realized that there are a ton of people who had a similar experience with the Bartender... No people skills, socially awkward, condescending, dismissive, etc. There seems to be an ongoing theme. I mean, the very term Hospitality, is derived from the word Hospitable. Our experience was not.
Party of three..Walked into a dimly lit, very, very tiny bar.The overwhelming smell of burning cinnamon instantly burnt my eyes and wasn't my favourite atmosphere to breathe in.Menu is set out differently, requiring alot of reading. Lighting was to poor, especially trying to read the fancy font and with burning eyes at this point.First two drinks looked amazing but tasted terribly awful... $29, I then left due to the overwhelming cinnamon and hit James st by myself and let the ladies enjoy.Returning, the cinnamon smell was gone so I joined the ladies, the waiter spent his time chatting up the female patrons and never came back to our stand up table.I don't think I saw the waitress or mixologist smile once.We asked to be seated when we arrived when available- never happened. Standing table. The Playlist was good, five stars. Two more cinnamon cocktails got made and lit, that was it for me and the ladies at that point....out.The drinks are very fancy and cool to watch. Cocktail pricing, around $15.I hated it. The girls enjoyed.Yes - I would recommend this place for the pretentious. Personally my senses were offended. We left and hit up a real Hamilton bar and had a much better experience in a much more entertaining atmosphere.
I’ve been here twice and blown away both times. This is the place for creative and delicious cocktails. Definitely try Fear and Loathing! Staff are friendly and chill and a very cool place to end an evening.
Very nice. Very different for us. Great snacks (oysters!). More cocktails than you can imagine. Luke, the mixologist was a great host. Get there early as it gets full (and loud) quickly. It's a must try.
Amazing cocktails. Great vibe. Wonderful service.
Had Kyle as my bartender today, the rest of the crew was awesome and professional. But the drink Kyle made me "Metamorphosis" was the best drink I've had in years and the environment was super chill.Highly recommend this place.
Loved the atmosphere & cocktail choices. Definitely will be back to try the new menu dropping soon!
