Amazing service, awesome desserts, always a great time. Love the ambiance of this little tavern.

We had a belated birthday celebration for our mother and decided to go to Aberdeen Tavern for Sunday brunch, it was the best choice we could have made! The service was impeccable and the food was satisfyingly delicious. The two-course brunch is the perfect amount of food and there are no bad choices on the menu. We'll definitely be back very soon!

Two thing occurred which shouldn’t happen in a quality restaurant. My daughter and I went for a nice Father’s Day brunch. We were initially seated at a window table for two at our request. After several minutes of chatting, we were then unceremoniously moved to an adjacent table as the window table had supposedly been reserved. We complied but throughout the duration of our meal, the window table sat unoccupied. Strange and kind of tacky. The appetizer I ordered was a really tasty and well-prepared avocado toast. Really good. Following the appetizer, we waited for a fair duration for our main which was a tostado with poached eggs, black beans and pico de gayo. The presentation was excellent. As I ate the food, I noted that the eggs and black beans were not really very warm…bordering on cool. I finished about half, when my daughter asked me if the meal was okay. She’d ordered the same main course and reported a similar reaction to the temperature of the food. Our server asked how our meal was and we told her. She offered to return the food to the kitchen and appeared quite embarrassed. Neither of us wanted to make a big deal of it and suggested that she just mention it to the cook or chef as an aside. Normally, I would have sent the meal back but for some reason balked at it. I guess that I was put off by the initial reception and didn’t want to hang around. In any case, I thought that I’d right this review with the hope that a message is heard. What you see isn’t what you get. I may go back in the future to see if this was a one-off but it’ll take a while for me to get around to it.

I was there with a group of eight friends for dinner and was totally unimpressed. The food was substandard. I had a caesar salad which was bland. There wasn't enough dressing on it and the dressing itself barely tasted of garlic. The lettuce was limp and the croutons clearly from the grocery store, not fresh. We had calamari for the table which was greasy, over breaded and tasted a bit like ammonia. I had a chicken dish as a main and it was so over spiced with curry as to be barely edible. The asparagus in this dish was overcooked and soggy. One of my friends had a "butcher's cut" steak which was half gristle. One of my other friends had pasta with seafood and the mussels were quite sandy. The service was strained even though we were early and the place wasn't busy yet. For what is supposed to be an upscale eatery, this meal was quite a disappointment.

Service was fantastic and very attentive. The price fix menu for brunch was a nice selection of choices for any palate. Join them!

Was at the restaurant today for brunch. It's beautiful and our server was attentive. The appetizers were all very delicious and then ... it fell apart My friends each got the tostada and after a bite they said it was extremely salty. So much that it wasn't remotely enjoyable. My eggs benny was underwhelming. The English muffin burnt and the potatoes also really salty. I didn't enjoy any of it and was pulling pieces of char out of my teeth. All I could taste was burnt food. Too bad as it is a lovely atmosphere But definitely not a good experience for any of us. I've been in the past (pre covid) and never had a bad experience but this was enough to not go back We mentioned it was not great to the server who did apologize but that doesn't really change the bad food

My wife and I attended the tavern for dinner and we were both treated to an exceptional restaurant experience. The server, Patrick was knowledgeable and friendly. We placed trust in the servers when selecting our beverages to accompany our food and they made the right choices! What makes the Aberdeen Tavern the best restaurant in Hamilton is their updated spring menu. Both meals were presented beautifully and the textures portion and layers of flavours masterfully treaded a line between tradition and creativity. I want to return for another meal soon and I will be bringing my children this time who I am sure will find a feast at this establishment as well. A classy spot to treat you and your loved ones or to impress any dining companions.

I booked the Apartment at the Aberdeen Tavern for my husband’s 35th birthday. Such a pleasure to work with Kaitlin, Jenna and Sherry! Total experts in the service industry and complete professionals throughout the night. Smooth dinner service with 22 adults and 5 children! It was no easy feat, yet they pulled it off seamlessly! Completely accommodating in all ways(allergies and children’s dinner- some of my guests wanted the kids meals! That’s how high quality the food was!). Received so many compliments from my guests on food quality, drink selection, beautiful space, and perfect ambiance. The Aberdeen Tavern has set the bar HIGH for private functions! Highly recommend the Aberdeen Tavern for your next private party.

Always a solid meal here. Started with a delicious Pomme des Palms cocktail perfect for winter Loved the carrot and red lentil soup! Had the fritters for the table app which everyone adored. Our mains were the salmon, orrechietti pasta and the braised beef. All very good to the point where all our plates were clean! Portion size was just right. Never a disappointment eating here.
