lovely hidden spot, I'm not surprised at how busy they are! I would recommend reserving a table in advance, at least the day before. They have a great selection of pastas, pizzas and drinks, with lots of interesting flavours and twists on classics. It's a really cozy and comfortable atmosphere. I could see how the staff was carefully selected to be friendly and courteous, with service that offered a little extra bit of consideration. I look forward to trying their desserts and to getting a table at the second floor next time!
I had always heard Sugo on Surrey recommended to me, so when we finally went to celebrate an occasion I was not sure what to expect. The atmosphere was cozy and relaxed, while still feeling special. The staff were very friendly and helpful, our server especially. Where this place shines without question is it's food. We ordered an appetizer, an entree each, and a desert to share. Each item was excellent, there was nothing missing or needed, it was incredible. Perfect flavours with fresh ingredients. I regret not going sooner.
Dined at Sugo on Surrey on the 21st, Thea was our server and she was absolutely fantastic! Her recommendations were perfect and so spot on, she was so delightful at the table and she really elevated our experience! The food of course was also amazing, I had the wild boar Gnocchi and nearly cried it was so good! Overall 10/10 will definitely be coming back!
The food is very tasty.. Italian with a unique twist..Presentation of the food was excellent…The food portions were generous but not overwhelming..The atmosphere is great..the restaurant is quite beautiful with sleek classy tables inside an old stone house. The waitress we had Ash was friendly and professional. She was interested in what we thought of the appetizer. also she was very efficient. We will definitely return for more excellent food and service.
This place is homey and the customer service is great. The food was delicious and the portions as you can see from the photos are quite generous. The Arancini, pasta and the apple crumble were the best! The only con is the parking situation in this area. Wish there was actual parking for the restaurant
Our take out last night was great. It’s a little hard to find the building in the dark (first timers!) but we managed and pick up was contactless. The food was still piping hot when we got home and the portions were huge. Ordered the Arancini, Tuscan Chicken Rigatoni and the seafood pasta. All in all a great take out experience!
Our New Year's Eve was very nice. Food was delicious. The red wine was cold, though, and I should have felt the bottle before it being opened...my miss. Otherwise, a nice experience.
We had a 3 office Christmas party (13 people) at Sugo on Surrey. The food was great. Our server was spectacular. We were all so impressed with Sugo being able to offer a full menu to a table of 13, get everything right and provide better service than I often do at other restaurants with a table of 2 or 4. Exceptional experience.
First impressions count! Enjoyed dinner with friends this evening at Sugo on Surrey in downtown Guelph. GO THERE Sumptuous flavourful food ? Cozy, warm atmosphere on the top floor dining space. 18 stairs up, I’m a counter, btw. Friendly & efficient service. Great date night location in my opinion. Already looking forward to dining outside next summer. And, if you’re having takeout, pick up is around back.
Finally had my Chicken Parm & it was superb! My hubby had the steak & thoroughly enjoyed.
