Such a beautiful Evening spent at @borealisguelph !.Their Private room is stunning. It looks like a wine cellar from Italy and works beautifully in pictures..The Burger I ordered-Gouda-Pemeal ? on a pretzel bun...It was SO GOOD! YE-UM! Totally hit my burger craving!.The service was amazing as well. Our hostess was very attentive, pleasant and truly made sure everything ran smoothly for our group. Thank You!

Took my girlfriend to Borealis tonight for her birthday. I had been to Borealis before and had a great experience. This time around the food was very mediocre. I had steak with Parm fries. The steak was pretty much raw and the fries as well. $36 for this plate and it was a big disappointment. My girlfriend got a somewhat decent meal(chicken supreme) it was tasty but still way over priced for what it was. The red whine sangria we both had was so sweet that we only drank half a glass each. To put the cherry on the cake, this was a birthday dinner and no complimentary dessert or extra service was provided. Lots of noise and banter from the kitchen area. Staff seemed very blah as well. They gave my girlfriend a $10 off card for our next visit for her birthday.....I don't think we will ever be back.
Excellent local fare! The truffle cheese and Peameal bacon burger was delicious! Hubby had fish tacos and salad saying he'd order it again and friend from Nova Scotia had a vegetarian meal she really enjoyed. We even went all out and had dessert, two of us had the white chocolate mouse with blueberry coulis, and the other had 3 vegan chocolate chip cookies, all was decadent and yum.
My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday dinner. He booked a table for 7pm online & stated it was a birthday. The server just confirmed that it was a birthday when we walked in. I said yes, she said happy birthday. My boyfriend wasn’t satisfied because they didn’t have the dinner he was coming specifically for. He ordered the steak & fries instead, super small portion size for what you pay. Fries & steak were basically raw. It was my first time here, but clearly my boyfriend had been before & liked a certain meal. Not too sure if we’ll be returning after this experience though, especially for a birthday.
Just stopping by in Guelph to visit a friend, and we were presently surprised on how friendly the staff were. Wait staff were busy when we got there, so the head bar tender came over and sat us down. From that point on, it was great food and laughs all around. We even crafted our own drink called 'The Princess Peach' ? ? I wish I took some pictures to share.I recommend doing the jalapeños cornbread. Almost taste like a sweet buttery cake with a friendly kick.
Omg by far the arugula quinoa salad I ever had.Actually first time ever was today and it was amazing!
All the eats were great, and our server was delightful highly recommended.
We've been twice in the past week for dinner, and both times the food and service were terrific. The potato and charred corn soup...yum! Oh, and the seasonal sangria....oooo tasty for the season! Mulled red wine and fruit? What an amazing combo.
Good service, great beer selection on tap, and great food. I liked how knowledgeable the staff were about all the food and drink offerings.
