I went in to order a drink and the girl working behind the counter said she’s only been there for 1 week and doesn’t know where anything is. When I asked where the manager was, she said “they decided not to come in today” - all the customers were turned away because she didn’t know how to make anything. Whoever the manager is should be fired.
Better them tims and McDonald’s that’s for sure

The environment is comfortable, the coffee not so great, but not bad either
Food and drinks are nice. Staff are a mixed bag. Some are warm, lovely, and professional. One young man who works there full time is rude, dismissive, and should have been fired long ago. He is the last person who should work in a front-of-house position. The state of the washroom is abysmal.
Place has changed due to some new hiring which looks like are making the decisions when it comes to how to run the coffee shop. Patio gets often left closed with the excuse that they don't have the key to open it or that are short staffed and no one can do it. When you bring it up the staff becomes rude and tells you even to leave and go somewhere else or not complain. This place have always had a patio which is one of the greatest features in summer time but recently the new staff, especially an older lady are making the calls and ignore how important that is to lots of customers. Talking to customers who have been coming to this place for many years and they're are frustrated although aren't being vocal with the staff. Some have chosen to leave and some just want a coffee without having to complain. Whoever the owner is should take note and try to remedy this hiccup. Staff should be trained more on how to deal with customers and respect their concerns and suggestions, even complains.
It is always my preference to support independent coffee shops. I visited this evening, and could not purchase anything as they would not take any of my mainstream USA credit cards, or my US currency as an emergency back up. Probably 4 or 5 stars if you are Canadian.
Very friendly staff...the coffee was good....the place is cozy....All good...will be back
